Cos they'd all be a massive gamble and Rhodes and Austin would cost more than £8m each.

Why we didn't sign crouch and odemwingie for a combined £10m is what really hurts. Especially as we were prepared to pay £7.5m and £7m for m'vila and Rolando so the money was there! Massive mistake not signing crouch and odemwingie, really massive!

I think HR and co probably did concentrate getting us big names as we needed them but he did go back to Spurs to get two smaller names who probably were not on his list originally after the Mvilla saga. I do agree we could have done with another forward.

Agree totally about DJ and Bothroyd..../

FIrstly these players are not guaranteed to succeed in the prem.
Secondly, Championship clubs charge fortunes, way over the odds, for their top strikers..... Blackburn signed Rhodes for more than we paid for Remy FFS.

Every single one of these players are Premier League players now. Some of them better than others but my point is why couldnt we be the ones buying the next Graham?
Bothroyd had a lucky season with Cardiff....never scored that many before in his career.

Anyway Austin, Murray or Rhodes would have been way better than Mackie or an injured Zamora/Remy. You all know I am right!
