  • Hurts to say but we deserve to go down

We have used 50 players since we got into the Premier League 18 months ago and have spent more money than at any time in our history, yet still our only really creative player is one we signed when we were in the Championship. I'm often wrong with my predictions so not claiming to be a genius at any of this but predicted before the match it would be 0-0: Harry has made us very solid but we just don't have enough attacking flair. Adel does some great things but mainly in isolation and Townsend looks a lively, skillful player without ever really threatening. Did their goalkeeper have one save to make from a shot inside the box (penalty aside)? How many players did we get into the box when we were attacking? How often did any of those attacking players get on the end of things? I'm not doing the usual QPR fan thing of slating any individual player - they all did alright - but sadly in the Premier League when you are looking for wins "alright" is not enough. We are now a team built to stop others playing which is great against Man City but offers us nothing against the fellow strugglers we are now facing.

It's mad ain't it. All the money we have spent and all the players we have gone through everything we do attacking wise has to go through Adel or we don't create. Think we are missing real out and out wingers. Snodgrass should of been snapped up by us a long time ago. SWP doesn't offer nothing attacking wise. His shots could literally go anywhere.

It was. We are still just a collection of individuals. Even without injuries we still don't really have a team. Whatever formation/ team selection you make from our current squad its going to have major flaws in it. Am not saying we should be thrashing teams like Norwich but having used 50 players since promotion - and signed about 15 midfielders - you might have thought we would have one midfield player who could run from box to box and pass to a team mate. Is it too much to ask?

We are shocking. We're probably even more boring that Stoke at the moment.

Lowest league scorers with only 2 wins ALL season...damn right we deserve to go down. Shocking fail of a season.

You summed up everything I wanted to say perfectly.

Completely agree Stainrod. I've accepted we aren't good enough. Look at the others, Reading scored 2 and won, Villa scored 3 and Wigan also scored 2. We are **** poor and we deserve to go down

Agreed - there are 3 or 4 players who were pursued but did not arrive this window:
                      M'vila - midfield general
                      Livermore - midfield cover
                      Crouch - target man
                      Odemwinge - Remy cover/competition

Thats a lot to miss out on when a team is bottom of the table.

Agree. That lot, or even one of Crouch and Otemwingie, would have turned us into a half decent team. But we only need to lose one of Adel, Samba or Remy now and the game is virtually a write-off. And in midfield - unless Diakite comes back firing or Jenas suddenly throws back the years - we simply don't have anyone as first choice, let alone in reserve.
