Was it a loan deal with Hoilett or permanent. If the latter, perhaps his wages were the problem. He is probably earning more now than WBA would offer (they have a strict wage policy to ensure they dont get heavily into debt), PO's on 35Kpw and for them that is top money.

If it was a loan deal, I am not sure why Holiett turned it down, because he is not likely to get in the team if Redknapp goes for Zamora and Remy as forwards with Taarabt behind them.
Mbia, Jenas and either Derry or Townsend are likely to play in midfield.

Wages weren't an issue - as far as I am aware WBA wanted Hoilet on loan & us to cover his wages; so Hoilet wouldn't have been out of pocket.

Hoilet is a very godo player, we just need to think back to how chuffed we all were when we signed him in the summer. He hasn't had a dceent run of games for us and, in fairness, the whole Hughes era was a shambles so unfair to judge anybody too much on that period. IMO I think Hoilet will go on to become a key player for us.

I would like to see JH given a run in the team. Seems we haven't seen the best of him yet.

That's surely got to go down as one of the biggest understatements on here...ever.

Where is the Hoilett who ran at players with skill and pace and scored goal of the month contenders. His best run and goal was against Walsall, His other goals were a run and heavily defelected shot against Everton (given as an own goal by the dubious goal panel) and a header into an unguarded net against Southampton.

It's almost as if QPR signed his identical (but lesser skilled) twin instead.

One point games are no good to us week in week out although they represent a huge improvement. We're a striker short and there's no evidence that Remi will cope on his own week in week out. PO would have made little difference to that because he is not an out and out striker.

It's nonsense to say that those of us who would have preferred a decent front man are dreaming of RVP. Crouchie would have been a massive tactical plus for us, I'd take him over PO any day of the week, especially with Tonwnsend on the books.

As I said last night, since the deal for clubs next season is so large who in the Premier League is going to part with the kind of top striker we need? None as it turned out. How many Championship clubs are going to take a money deal for a top striker and potentially miss out on promotion, and the jackpot that will follow? No one.

Harry and Tony went round Europe and tried to persuade targets to join the bottom club in the league, they managed to get Remy. And people have the gall to complain? Wow. Just.. wow.
