  • HR on the Odemwingie deal??!?!?!

Did I just hear HR say on SSN: "It came down to include a loan deal but the player decided he did not want to go so that was the end of it" (or very close to that)?

Then it will be very understandable why Odemwingie thought it would go through - why would he suspect Hoilett to obstruct a deal the other way - anyway he could not have known.

Hope Hoilett makes a good come back which will make us forget all about Odemwingie.

I think he said something like that. But TF said he wasn't going anywhere.
Remember Harry had nothing to do with it. All negotiations and deals were dealt with by Tony F and/or Phil B.

Peter been sent home from training. What's the rules on signing a free agent and adding them into the squad?

it seems pretty clear we offered hoilet but that he said no. bad news really as it shows harry doesn't rate him (or at least not v much) and he might not now figure/ be v motivated. and all without landing p.o.

yup my thoughts exactly.....and how does that add up to TF tweeting that he needs a good run in the team???

If Hoilett was offered as a loan and refused to go, HR us going to be pretty annoyed with him. HR obviously wanted Obemgingie.

Can't blame Hoilet. In fact I quite admire his determination to do well here - with the offer to go out on loan to a side much further up the table than us, he has said he would rather stay here. Good on him.

I would like to see JH given a run in the team. Seems we haven't seen the best of him yet.

No pun, but how much sign of grid and determination has he shown. ? Personally,I´m far from satisfied with his attitude on the pitch.
But sure he has got every right to say no to a loan deal. No doubt about that.

Think he has shown a sufficient amount in the game time he has been given tbh - chased everything down and put a shift in when he has played. Spurs game he ran his socks off.

as fernandes said, jnr needs a run in the team. yes he has been inconsistent and early doors didn't track back enough but wd have thought harry cd put that right. its always a good sign of an attacking player when you shift to the edge of your seat or stand up when they surge forward. i find myself doing that with jnr. with jamie and swp - not so much...

Is he still injured and if so when are we likely to have him back? Seems odd if he is injured suggesting a loan.

                            He was injured last week.
Could be that he will gel with Remy and Taraabt, eventually..
He looked the part for Blackburn last season.

Was it a loan deal with Hoilett or permanent. If the latter, perhaps his wages were the problem. He is probably earning more now than WBA would offer (they have a strict wage policy to ensure they dont get heavily into debt), PO's on 35Kpw and for them that is top money.

If it was a loan deal, I am not sure why Holiett turned it down, because he is not likely to get in the team if Redknapp goes for Zamora and Remy as forwards with Taarabt behind them.
Mbia, Jenas and either Derry or Townsend are likely to play in midfield.
