  • Samba and Mbia at centre back? Potential?

As title suggests really. Obviously Clint Hill deserves his starting place at centre back on current form (minus Liverpool game) but how about Mbia back there with Samba? Would definetly have some presense and both are tough tackling defenders with pace and height.
Mbia does scare the **** out of me at times when me makes a tackle as he can be a little wreckless and that could be a big potential for red cards and penalties but he is such a hard worker he could make a great centre back partner for Samba.

What do you guys think? I like Mbia as he does offer us real presence in midfield and works his socks off with his tackling and closing down but when we play teams we need to beat i think he may be lacking technically for a centre midfielder where slotting into defense could be the perfect solution?

we can play just one at the back now we have Samba.

    Formation v Norwich is 1-5-4

It's a good plan B - but the fact Harry has made Clint Hill captain tells you all you need to know about the player, the manager and the manager's thoughts on who will partner Samba at full back.

I think M'Bia has been good @ CDM

Hill is good enough there for now IMO

I agree with you mate. Would like to see them two together at the back, Samba should steady him down and make him feel like he doesn't have to go in for everything. Granero and Jenas/Diakite centre mid should be good enough if Harry opts for 4-4-2.

Mbia and Samba together would equal steel but little organisation and speed of thought. Hill and Samba for me with Mbia in front offering protection for me.

As Bluehoop says good plan B.

Mbia when he played at the back looked like a penalty waiting to happen so in theory playing in the middle of the park means he does less damage when it does go wrong and he does a decent job there

M'bia as a CB? We might try if Cesar is a good penalty stopper.
