  • my take on the other relegation candidates 'window'!!

i think le newcastle wil have enough about them now.....west ham will be the 'blackpool' this season believe me.....norwich on freefall, minus hooper, we 'must' beat tomorrow!....saints will fall back into the fray and villa imho are doomed.....wigan n reading will fight for every point and could be dangerous against other relegation teams..........so im gonna stick my neck out n predict

    west ham
    reading
    villa for the dreaded drop!
    you know nothing john snow!!!!

Shoot me down but I personally think we will stay up and quite comfortably. Villa will definetley go down which is a shame as I like them as a club, can't call the other 2 spots but it won't be us!

I was at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and Southampton looked like a decent team.

Made United look like the away side and were very unlucky to lose.

Looking at the players signed by all our rivals, only Newcastle did anything that makes you think they've strengthened. Ours, for a Club bottom of the pile and written off by several experts and many of our own pseudo experts, has done some impressive business by comparison.
I thought we would stay up before the window and I haven't changed my view.
It's not just blind optimism, although that comes into it, but it is also based on how Harry has drawn the team together, got them looking like picking up points and also that great January, where we picked up 6 points from 12, unbeaten and including an away win and against 4 teams I would rather not have to play.
The teams around us must have tougher run ins than us and I think there are enough others struggling that have not improved their squads as much that we can overtake and leave behind.

          This.

I think the 3 for the drop are Reading Villa & Wigan.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

think it will be alot closer and we "might" scrape 17th....all go down to last couple of games of the season i reckon. Still not all that confident we can get 3 points on Saturday even.

I will predict depending on tomorrows outcome.
If we win we can stay up - if we loose we will go down. It is not because of tomorrows game itself but because the next 2 games after that looks like 0 points. So if we loose tomorrow we can be isolated by more than 10 points in 3 games which we will not recover from.

Very similar to the position we would have been in after a run of games - Chelsea (a), Spurs (h), West Ham (a) and Man City (h). Realistic expectations from those 4 games? Maybe a point from West Ham but as it was away not so likely. All of the 3 big hitters were in form when we played them - Chelsea had won 6 or more in a row, smashing 8 past Villa and plenty goals besides, Spurs were on a run and had scored in every away game and City were off the back of 6 wins in 7.

We could have been 10 points or more adrift now but we are within touching distance. We shouldn't have got the points we did from the last 4 but we did. If we lose you cannot say for certain we are down although I agree we have to start winning these sorts of games. Finally, on the back of the previous 4 game run, how can you say with such confidence that the next 2 games looks like nil points?

Your predictions read - if we win we CAN stay up but if we lose we WILL go down. Reality is if we win we CAN stay up but might still go down, if we draw or lose we CAN stay up but might still go down.

Just thought I'd give things a more balance view
