  • Norwich press conference

There should be one today? What time..... People saying Harry looked annoyed last night but I'm sure he worked really hard and was tired. Course he would of wanted po aswell but it wasn't to be and maybe Harry was upset because its un needed attention bought to Qpr and it wasn't our doing.

We will never find out our other targets as now it's all about Harry motivating what we have got.

Attacking options have changed massively between feb1st and jan 1st anyway. Remys in zamoras back Campbell/bothroyd back. Then Townsend added to the wing for pace.

The most important thing we can do is concentrate on getting hoilett, granero, diakite, swp back on form and playing.

Dare I say it but as long as we Are playing he's wages then I hope bosingwa starts pulling he's weight because there's a good player in there somewhere

I think HR was tired and disappointed that the Odenwingie deal fell through without time to get another striker in. I think he'll be in better form at this morning's press conference.

Think Harry was probably exhausted. Worked his nuts off last two weeks.

I missed the end due to a fire drill at work... but this is what I heard:

              Asked if disappointed last night.

Said not at all, just disappointed for Odemwingie and the way it panned out for him. Hoilett didn't want to go on loan as part of the deal so it fell through. HR saying it was a genuine mistake by PO and feels sorry for him.

              Praising TF for getting Samba.

Saying Townsend and Jenas don't earn anywhere near half of £100,000 quoted as their wages jointly. Asked how many new signings will play tomorrow and he said maybe one or two.

Young Korean boy is here for the future. A way down the road before we see anything from him and they're looking to work on him.

Samba will come in and play with Clint Hill. Saying Jenas and Townsend on about 25k a week combined.

Asked about spending by the club. Samba was a surprise to HR but admired him. HR listed Rio Ferdinand, Vidic, John Terry and Samba during a conversation with TF about his ideal defenders. Then TF went away and sorted Samba for him.

Asked if we're going to stop spending big and HR said Mark Hughes didn't spent a lot, about 12 million in the summer. One or two free transfers with bigger wages but we didn't spend big in the summer.

Talking about our good form recently, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham and Man City. Good to get 6 points from them.

Garth Crooks going back to Odemwingie and HR just saying lots of players travelled turning up to do deals which fell through across the country.

Jenas medical lasted 4 hours! So he's basically defending Odemwingie, suggesting he was genuine and got caught out.

Saying he wishes the transfer window is a bit farcical and business shouldn't really be left to the last minute.

              Suggested Spurs deals done yesterday.

              That's all I heard.

Said DJ had travelled to Blackburn in anticipation same as Odemwhingie - paperwork fail meant deal fell through (purposely I presume)

But said loans to Champioship clubs still possible and might still happen for him next week

Maybe HR thinking Townsend in for DJ ?

Two things gleaned from this, is the wage arrangements and puts matters into perspective generally. This has to be set against all revenue, ticket, sponsorship and TV and free signings and transfer fees paid to date. Not as bad as the talking heads in the media make out, as usual trying to make a story where none exist.

Secondly that the club must have concerns that Jenas may be crocked, otherwise why emphasis the length of examination.

Of course people travel in anticipation of a deal.... Look at Danny Graham from Swansea to Sunderland.... if they had to go by car, that's a fair few hours at best so you need to get within the region just in case as the medical could take hours also.

What you don't do is pull up outside your potential new club... that was ridiculous and i blame the agent totally, ratehr than the player. He's paid to be on top of these situations and tell his player whan to do and what not to.

agree with you del though the player has to take some responsibility. a talking head was saying last night "its a lack of education" but then someone pointed out that both PO's parents are doctors, so he can't be completely brain dead.

4 hour medical, free transfer, 18 month contract, low wage = candidate for treatment table. HR used inside knowledge from time at Spurs, a gamble and throw of the nice.

Spot on we have Westfields up the road were he could have had a meal, a drink and passed time waiting for the club to say get yourself to the ground and he would have been their in 5mins.
