  • On reflection...

Some are dissapointed we haven't got another striker, as am i after getting to like the idea on Odemwingie's pace up front or wide, however, it didn't happen so we move on.

For all those being negative, it's time for a little perspective.

If we were all told we could sign 2 of the following 3 players, Samba, M'Villa, Remy.... I am pretty certain 99% of our fans would choose Samba and Remy as they were the key positions that needed strengthening, and they are top, top players.... I mean who'd have dreamt we'd get them to help our casue only a few weeks ago???

For me anything else is a bonus and of the others:

Yun - I have really high hopes for this lad and think he will have the perfect attitude and work ethic and could become a real gem.... who knows, having a compatriot around may help Park find his game also???
Jenas - Back on his day i thought was very good for Spurs and unsung to a degree with a lot of his good work going unoticed, however, how have injuries affected him.... if he finds his form, could be a shrewd investment, but i have doubts.
Townesend - Hardly know anything about the kid and he's been farmed around the championship for 3 years without really standing out.... i find it hard to imagine he'll improve what we have, but Harry will know him and he could be a livewire so here's hoping.

Dissapointing not getting Odemwingie, but we have attacking players to support the front men so we may be fine anyway, but i was also dissapointed we let Faurlin go out as i think he has a lot of quality. Hopefully he will find form and return in the summer revitalised and good for next year, but i expect he;s not in HR's thinking so may be offloaded in the summer... however, worst case scenario, we could recall him for a championship campaign, but i don't think that will be necessary as think we'll overcome Villa, Reading and Wigan.

Feel sorry for some of the parents of the posters on this board, Christmas morning must have been very trying for them.

Excellent post Del. Couldn't agree more.

I'm hoping. I've not checked with my parents, but I'd hoped for better business.... We've improved on the wonderful Nelsen. And. Er. That's it.

Also some of the players we signed have something to prove, so hopefully they will try.

I very much doubt that if we had got Rolando we would have gone for Samba, and am very happy we have the latter instead. Great we got Remy, too. Perhaps we'll never know if we'd have had the money for Samba if we'd got M'Vila. Redknapp, after all that hard work from him and the club, must be ****ed off though that none of his overseas targets apart from the ones we got, seemed interested in coming to us.But If we weren't R's fans we'd understand their lukewarm attitude I suppose. If we had started this season with Redknapp in charge, with the 25 man squad we will now have, then barring totally disastrous injury problems surely we'd have avoided a relegation struggle. So we can only hope for the best. I'm trying to become more positive!

Agree with Del's summary. Our defending has improved and with Samba replacing Nelsen, we should be able to maintain that improvement. Up top Remy looks like he's going to be a handful and let's not forget DJ has stayed and possibly could be useful as could a fit BZ. We also haven't seen the best of Hoilet yet, either.
In midfield, Townsend is a good addition. My Spurs mates tell me he's decent and they're not easy to please. Also a fit Jenas, motivated by Harry still has something to offer.
Odinwngie would have been good but if WBA don't want to sell, then there's nothing we can do. I understand they wanted a replacement before selling, however don't really know why they'd want to keep someone who really want to leave. Can't see how they'll pick him now, anyway.
Overall, we've improved on what we had and recent results and hopefully easier fixtures give some cause for optimism

Every other word is ''I'm dissapointed'', then tells others not to be negative. Strange post.

Remy? Top striker. Yun - hard to say as I've not seen him but the lad could be a right good signing, only 22 and Man city were sniffing about him so can't be too shabby.

I 100% agree with you Del - top post. Yes in an ideal world we could have nabbed 1 or 2 more but lets not get carried away - our side now is farking blinding. Compared to how it was 31st December 2012. Samba and Remy are 2 absolutely magnificent signings for our club. Tad baffled as to the Ale out and Jenas in move but there ya go - In Arry we trust !

Roll on the rest of the season - I'm feeling very optimistic.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Really pleased with the board and managements's efforts this window. Some of our targets we got, some we didn't. It wasn't for the lack of trying. Some players simply won't move to a club that's in our position and after all, we're little old QPR don't forget.

The fact that we were after a number of other players, like Crouch, Odemwingie, M'Vila, Rolando etc. shows Tony was still prepared to shell out even more cash than he did. Tony is a very persuasive chairman, but even he can't sell QPR to everyone. I think if Ryan Nelsen was staying, almost everyone would've said we had a good window. Ok, we could have done with a couple more players, but apart from the targets we had, who could we have got?

Cisse and Nelsen have gone, and been replaced with Remy and Samba. Surey an upgrade? We got another LB, a position I feel Hughes neglected. Ben Haim has joined. No one knows much about this fella but if Harry says he's ok that's good enough for me. Ferdinand has gone, but won't be missed. Ned is like a breath of fresh air and is playing really well. I'm sure he will be good cover at CB if required, as will M'I personally believe our defence has been massively improved.

Jenas and Townsend have joined but we lost Faurlin. He's hardly done a thing since his injury, so with all due respect, won't be a big loss for us. Hoilett is due back from injury and Harry will get the best out of him. He will be like a new signing.

Up front we have a choice of Taarabt, Remy, BZ, and possibly DJ. We've got just 14 games left, surely we have enough decent players to get us through. I just wish people would stop moaning and start supporting. Harry and the board have done their very best to improve things, and I for one applaud their efforts. This window we got Remy and Samba ffs!!!!!

                    Come on you Rsssss!!!!!!!

Very good, balanced opening post Del. Clearly £21m is still not enough for some people though.

The thing is, Tony was willing to go well beyond the £21m. Unfortunately, we couldn't get all our targets. We got Samba and Remy this window, and some people have still got the hump!

Yes, I think HR was disappointed because of the Odemwingie situation but it seems we held the DJ deal up in case at least.

I'm very happy. Don't get all the spoilt negativity. Have we ever signed players like Remy and Samba before?! We're queens park rangers FFS!

On the striker side which I see people complaining about.. Louis saha experienced and could do us for 5 months.
