  • Do The Good Buys/Loans Outweigh The Bad Buys/Loans

I'm going to put aside De carmine and Parejo, as its pretty common knowledge that Flavio was instrumental in bringing those players in. Correct me if I am wrong, but here is my positive against Negative list from last 2 years.

    Positive

    Buzsacky
    Gorkss
    Leighterwood
    Cook
    Routledge
    Tarrabt
    Connolly
    Cerny
    Ramage
    Hall
    Vine
    Hogan

    Negative

    Miller (loan)
    Lee (loan)
    Mahon
    Ageymang
    Helguson
    Alberti
    Delaney (sold)

    Undecided

    Ledesma
    Faurlin
    Pellicori
    Simpson
    Borrowdale

I wouldn't say either outway one another mate.

Every club has their good and bad buys...we just seem to make more poor purchases than most in recent years.
    Your mum would love me...

trouble is Pete, the positives should outweigh the negatives heavily. For every say 5 positive signings, we should expect one bad one maybe. Your list should include DiCarmine and Parejo in the negatives. Ledesma is a negative because we got rid.

The ratio does not look good to me at all.

I would actually have Mahon in the positives and at a push even Alberti.

The way in which the squad has been constructed over the past 18 months has been pretty shambolic.

We are top heavy in midfield and have lacked a proper forward line.

Playing Taarbat upfront as an emergency forward has not worked, but at least we have now gone in and got a forward that with any luck will get us a few goals.

Real quality players cost wages and transfer fee's rather than loan signings and expensive unproven wonderkids from Argentina and Madrid.

Would rather we went down the Cardiff route and look at players like Mccormack and Chopra who were available and on our door step.

The sale of Blackstock still baffles me.

Wayne Routledge has been one of the few highlights to a dire start to the season.

I think we over hype some of our players to be honest, Martin Rowlands has been a huge loss though.

Putting aside which player should be in which list, looking at them makes you realise even more that we have just created a big old mess, with too many coming in, and the emphasis on quantity rather than quality.
We've wasted shed loads on average, similar players, and because of that we haven't had a settled team that could gel.
Changing managers every time Katie Price gets her baps out hasn't helped either.

It's like someone playing some very expensive, random game of Football Manager on a computer, with little thought for building a quality, settled team and system.
Too many players being left out, affects morale.

We need a streamlined, motivated quality squad of about 25 players, and a proper plan... instead of a warehouse full of journeymen.
We've wasted f****** MILLIONS, and about two years.

The fact you've posted this, and split so many players into different catagories that nobody will agree on proves and magnifies that.
And that is the fault of the board who have been here under all the different bosses, players comings and goings, and has shown that they lurch from one month to another without really having a plan about where we are heading and how to get there.
Big talk, deep pockets, short arms, and very little clue when it comes to football.

                It's a bl00dy MESS.

Like a lot of the fans, we do appear to be carry a lot of extra ballast around the midfield.

Would swap Mahon with Hall from Pete's list.

So would I, and I wouldn't have Alberti on the bad.
