  • Tony Fernandes This Transfer Window

Now I know Tony isn't funding these transfers himself, but a massive thank you surely needs to go to TF for his part in this transfer window. Firstly how he, seemingly, was the key in getting Remy in. Now, listening to Harry, he has gone and got us Chris Samba - Harry was saying (and I apologise now if this has already been posted on another thread) that last month Tony asked him to name a wishlist of defenders which Arry duly did (the list apparently included the likes of Vidic and Rio) - and Tony came back a few weeks later and told Arry that he had one of the defenders on his list but wouldn't tell him who.

    What a legend.

People have knocked him for his possible naivety regards Hughes-era and the delay in sacking him; but Tony really is a farking star and the best thing to happen to our football club in a long time, certainly in my lifetime. I wouldn't swap him for any other chairman tbh.

Can't wait for Saturday now - hopefully get an atmosphere up like the City game.

    The Rs are staying up!!

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Regarding saturday, Norwich have high hopes as well - I will be frightened if they manage to get Hooper on top of Becchio.

We have the best chairman and the best board in the business bar none. Wouldn't swap them for anyone else.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Very lucky to have Tony. Honest, enthusiastic, hard-working, passionate, supportive, communicative, personable and a genuinely nice bloke.

Thanks Tony - whatever happens the rest of this season you couldn't have done any more.

I think we need to be far more cautious about the state of play. Who do you think is going to be liable for the club's debts if things come unstuck?

Of today's business, Samba was essential, but only because we had neglected to sort a CB much sooner. Andros Townsend is a useful acquisition, but the rest of them - jury out.

I remember everyone getting excited last January... but how many of that lot really worked out as smart buys? Sure, that was Hughes, but the latest incarnation is going to take time to bed in too. Fingers crossed.

Tony's a real star but let's not forget the people behind him and the Mittal's, I'm sure they are stumping up a fair bit of what we are spending?
