I also want to know how we're affording these signings, and I'd also like to see our accounts for the last financial year published (they're currently late).

Collymore is just doing what any decent journalist ought to do: ask the right questions.

...and loads of people have looked into other clubs. For instance check out SwissRamble blog, or David Conn's writing on Portsmouth, Leeds and others.
I'm not sure why any of our fans wouldn't be worried about our finances.

We are spending way beyond our means.

However, this isn't a new issue.

Is that not the same with chelsea?.......where would Man U be with their debt?..Southampton? No one is questioning these clubs and suggesting auditors go and look at their books....disgusting behaviour and insulting to our owners

Do the maths, 80,000,000 if we stay in the premiership and 10,000,000 for Samba.

Anyway what's it gotta do with them? Our owners are spending their own money to finance the club. Portsmouth was a completely different case, but most journalists and pundits are so clueless they don't know the facts.

For the millionth time. Transfer fees are nothing compared to wages, and the wages we're paying dwarf those at Villa and Southampton. Samba is on ~£5m per year, for a start.

Not to mention the fact that Southampton will easily be able to move on Gaston Ramirez and co, whereas hardly any of our players will leave even on a free transfer (without a payoff) as no one else will come close to matching their wages

              Something that is being overlooked is that so far in this window, we have shifted the following off the wage bill;
              Dyer
              Cisse
              Faulin
              Ferdinand
              Nelson
              Hulse

We have so far replaced them with Remy, Samba and Suk-Young. Is that a net increase or decrease?

It's a bit pathetic if we can't even take decent journalists asking some very valid questions without descending into paranoid tribalism. I bet many Pompey fans wish the media had spent more time asking tough questions of Gaydamak et al.

This is ridiculous. Its insulting to ask perfectly valid questions? Are you serious?

                  It's called journalism.

Or should we just let football club owners do what they like with their clubs without any questioning because ....they're rich? I honestly can't think why they shouldn't be questioned.

And Man Utd have LOADS of questioning. They're probably the most closely scrutinised club in the country. Check out Andersred's blog, David Conn (again) and others. An entire new club (FC United) was set up due to dissatisfaction with the owners and their business model!

Not sure what dogging has to do with journalistic ability.

What's your problem with David Conn and Swiss Ramble, then?

Of course its insulting, its telling the world that he thinks our owners are dodgy fly by night crooks imo

Some of you people are as thick as two short planks. Samba is not on 100k a ****ibg week ! Tony has already said that is absolute rubbish. Do not believ what you read from journalists. Yet some of you believe the papers rather than our owner. Personally I don't give a **** what our owners spend its there money they can do what the **** they like . We have got rid of a ton of wage this window already get a grip and actually read or do maths on us not forming a opinion when you don't know sh1t.

I'm loving this OTT reaction lol. Anyway, for what its worth. If we have nothng to hide then who cares. If we do and it can cause the club bankruptcy...I'd be more concerned about that than premier league status.

Same can be said that just because TF says something doesn't mean its gospel? However, I am pretty sure someone has said Anzhi confirmed he took a wage cut anyway to come to us
