frustrating player - can look good in patches but doesn't do anything quite well enough to win me over I'm afraid. Sorry if that sounds harsh but given the hype and his pedigree etc was expecting a bit more.

When he started his FK's and corners were a massive improvement from Adel.

TBH, when he goes to take one it doesn't helpw wiht Adel making a fuss about him having the kick... just puts more pressure on him.

hard in absolute mare in the first half - improved in the second but agree, as yet, we are just not seeing the best of him.

Me too. But I don't think we should boo him or any of our players. It'd destroy their confidence and that's something we need our players to have

tonight he seemed to always want an extra touch and you can't do that against top of the league sides. United and city will be on you like a flash and work so so hard off the ball. For me he has ability and i'd play him against norwich, should get more time to pick out some passes but needs to keep it simple at times. Derry is a fine example of keeping the game simple so could take note. Hasn't got adels ability to take the ****.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

agree and faurlin is not the same player he once was. Granero has to start because he is the best player we've got.

Think we should off load faurlin as that nasty injury looks to of ended a very bright future. I am only saying what most of you are thinking

Yep, totally agree, was sat in lower loft and Tarrabt had a bit of a hissy fit as he walked away from Granero when Granero insisted he was taking it.

In general though I reckon there is a good player in Granero. Just needs to be a bit more consistent.

Granero technically a very gifted player, some games copes with the PL very well, others seems abit weak and naive - today was a mixture of both IMO. I rate him though and think he should be starting games - we will get better and better as he adapts to the English game.

Regards freekicks - they're both pretty poor with em a majority of the time tbh so I couldn't care who takes em, highly unlikely either will score.

First half was a shocker but he did OK in the second.

This. Lovely ball to set up Adel's chance, but he did the simple things badly all first half. He's so lightweight and unassertive on the ball (except when he wants to take a free kick). Always plays safe and unadventurous balls a nd slows things up too. He stands still when receiving the ball; never recieves when on the move. Jury's still out. Three players to replace him in the middle, Fabio on the right and, sadly, Nelsen would seriously improve what was today a good team.

WE must also remember he's been out injured a few weeks, and only had the debacle cup match as gametime before playing tonight against one of the best sides in the league...was a tough wake up call and i think that's why he struggled a bit first half. Settled later though and needs to be on the teamsheet every match as is a quality player. Just needs to regain a bit of confidence.

Takes too many touches, loses possession an awful lot cos he's sodding about and slows us up enormously. There must be a player in there somewhere based upon where he came from, but he's doing a brilliant job hiding it.
Might be OK in a team doing well and full of confidence, but no good at all for our situation.

Granero is not good enough at the moment. Can say that about most of the cms tho and explains why so many have been linked with the club. But at least Derry/Mbia do the basics whereas he fluffs them too often to be relied upon. he just don't seem to be at the races and someone like kranjcar for example would likely offer far more.
