Neither needs reminding about his limitations but midfielder Derry explained: “We are about desire and work-rate and togetherness as footballers. That’s been our label throughout our careers and I’m not embarrassed to say it’s what we bring to the table.
“That’s why we’re footballers because we possess those kind of qualities. I think it’s needed at a football club.”
Hill, with more than a hint of self-deprecation, added: “It’s definitely something I’m proud of, too. It’s fair to say we haven’t got a lot of talent! But we know what we do well and what we can’t.”
