  • On reflection. Biggest plus from y'day

    Surely it's now clear after that abysmal performance certain players need shifting fast.

    Pretty much most fans are in agreement about the likes of Ferdinand moving on but others have been subject to many a debate but for me these players must be sold or released.

    Jamie Mackie.

    Most debated guy on here most probably but if I was a manager he would get the chop in an instant. We all know his work rate is immense & for that I admire him massively. Great attitude & in his favour the kind of character you do need in a dogfight like ours BUT his lack of ability is frightening, his vision, runs, shooting & dribbling are all so poor it's amazing he's playing in the top flight. I would use him as an impact sub at best but if offered £3m as rumoured I'd say snap their hands off.

    Ale Faurlin;

    Great guy & been superb for us prior to his injury but whether its due to that or just that he can't cut it in the Premier League I'm not sure but he's just not up to the task. Could probably count on one hand the amount of good games he's had in 2 years. Definitely has class or had it maybe but I feel he's very over rated & given the opportunity I'd sell.

    Park Ji Sung;

    Another workhorse & actually doesn't get the credit for a lot of the dog work he actually does really well but is to in effective in games & hasn't come anywhere near the form he showed at Manchester United. Fergie knew when to get rid & for his wages alone which must be extortionate I'd get rid.

    Jay Bothroyd;

    Hasn't done anything for me from the day he arrived. Immobile, can't jump, for a big guy doesn't bully defences in the slightest, can be seen as lazy at times & although he'll always be remembered for the great game he had against Man City last season & WBA this he hasn't done nearly enough to merit a place when he has been called upon.

    Hogan Ephraim;

    I like this kid & have been surprised he hasn't been given a single run out for us this season considering we've been so poor but at the same time I don't feel he has the minerals to produce at the top level. Got sent on loan to Leeds & Charlton & didn't exactly pull up trees & was ultimately returned to us. Had long enough to break through & it just hasn't happened for him. Sell.

    Rob Green;

    Again I like Greeno but is an absolute drain on resources & is only minutes away from another howler. Not totally at fault yesterday but could of done a lot better imo. I'd be happy with Cesar as number 1 & Cerny & Murphy as back up. Chelsea have Turnbull FFS you don't need 2 keepers on over £50,000 per week each. Sell

    Other players I'd try & shift for a variety if reasons would be;

    Rob Hulse
    Jose Bosingwa
    Djibril Cisse (perm)

    Players I would keep who have not been getting a real look in would be;

    Esteban Granero
    Samba Diakite
    Andrew Johnson
    Nedum Onouha
    Junior Hoilett
    DJ Campbell
    Armand Traore

    All for various differing reasons but I feel those above still have a lot to offer.

    I know no more about football than you this is simply MY reasons on who I'd keep & sell based in what I've seen since they've joined us there is a hell of a lot of wages combined with that lot probably approximately £300,000 per week more than enough to bring in 5-6 players on £40-50k per week of better quality.

    Before anyone says yea but who's gonna buy them I understand that but am simply outlining the players I feel NEED to go not will go for whatever reason.

    Anyone have anything to add to this or have I been to harsh on certain players?

    Ale has been a average at best since arriving - bar the odd game in the Championship...I'd take whatever money is offered for him and Mackie....Ale to Real Madrid...WHATEVER TREVOR!!

      not harsh at all rocs....pretty much as you said but in all honesty if we take off our qpr tinted specs the whole squad bar five or six needs a total overhaul!
      you know nothing john snow!!!!

        Decent post Ric and i guess most of it is what we are all thinking.

        I have to slightly disagree with you on Mackie. We are QPR not Man U, we aint gonna have world class players all over the park and for me Mackie gives us workrate and a goal threat the majority of times he plays. I know he has games when he gets you pulling your hair out but unfortunately thats Mackie for you.

        I dont get to that may games now, prob 7 or 8 a season and by the sounds of it you do a hell of a lot nore so you are prob better to judge Mackie but id keep him.

          I can't believe after this season and last we still have fans who want to keep Mackie?!...it's as bad as Warnock and Huges keeping Dyer coz he works really hard to get back from another injury!

            Fair points lads.

            Dave I admit I'm torn with Mackie as he has EVERYTHING you'd want from a player just not the ability or talent!

            Personally for the £3m rumour that is floating about I'd cash in, of course not saying release him or sell him for peanuts but for substantial cash I would sell. Personal opinion of course.

              Mackie we will need next season

              Ale was our best midfielder pre injury playing alongside a snappy ground covering horrible fella. Since the injury he has been badly handled and should've been eased back in. Again, may be useful next season at a lower level

              The rest of them just need to go

              Frightening thing is what happened last time we had a huge personnel change in a transfer window
              I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

                L block you make a good point about needing players next season I presume you mean in the championship ?

                For me I just can't contemplate us going down & I do think we'll survive so I only base my opinion on us being a PL side.

                You are right though IF we went down we would benefit from having him I can't argue with that at all.

                  Yeah like i said mate you see him in the flesh more than me and at times when we need someone to pull something out of the bag and Mackie runs into a defender for the tenth time you prob give up with the guy. For me though mate its players like SWP who we know has the talent but doesnt produce it, i know he has improved since Harry has come but he has been such a dissapointing signing its untrue.

                    Can't disagree at all with that mate. What you said about Mackie is spot on. With regards to SWP I think he's still an asset to us & we all know he has that ability whereas Mackie in all fairness hasn't. Agreed though mountains of room for improvement.

                      Agree with most of that. Would add DJ to the list. Like Faurlin he's the emperors new clothes. Never taken his chance and over rated cos he's a rangers fan

                        I'm starting to think that. Tbh the only thing that stopped me adding him to the list is that he's not had a chance at all whereas the others have had bundles. I'd like to judge DJ over 10 games which I think is fair not to mention the awful lack of service our strikers receive. He had one half chance yesterday & scored albeit offside.

                          Good post - would agree with most of it though it pains me re: Ale. Real shame, as he had so much potential but he does appear a shadow of his former pre-injury self :(
                          I'd also keep Mackie as a squad player - not first team regular. Good to have around the dressing room / training pitch and quite good impact sub when opposition are tired. Also, would be definite asset in the championship and I bet his wages are relatively low.
                          I'm afraid I don't rate SWP either - would not mind him going.

                            Pretty good post Ric and with the exception of DJ agree with the majority of what you say. Think with Campbell he gts protected because he is a fan, sorry but just don't get it with, decent championship player and may be worth keeping if we are relegated but not for me.

                              lets be brutally frank and honest with ourselves....when we cant wait for clint m shaun to start i think it really tells us where we are!.i really dont think we've adapted to life in the premier league since the day we were promoted to it!
