  • Taarabt and Remy are only hope of staying up

The defence has tightened, we have a good keeper. But goals win games, and the fact ism draws aren't good enough, we need wins.

We have 15 points, with 15 games to go.
I think we need at least 36 points to be safe.
So that is 21 points needed from 15 games.
That comes to 6 wins, 3 draws, and 6 losses.
5 wins, 5 draws, and 5 losses is probably not good enough.
4 wins, 7 draws and 4 losses is almost certainly not good enough.
So we need to start playing more openly - what we did against West Ham is just not good enough.

And to be honest, I look at the team, and the only place I can see goals coming are through Tarbs and Remy. Nowhere else. SWP is way too inconsistent, he gets into good positions at times but his shooting is woeful, DJ and Bothroyd are no longer good enough at this level, Zamora is dodgy - the one player who I do think can make a positive contribution is Hoilett, but I have no idea what is happening with him, whether it is an attitude problem, a fitness problem, or what.

So, yes, whilst it would have been nice to have Tarbs and Remy on the bench, Harry probably realises that if one of these gets injured, we go down, as there just aren't goals in this team if you take these two out.

If Nelsen is replaced by Ben Haim then i think we are ****ed no matter how good Adel and Remy are.

Ben Haim - don't want to knock the guy, but surprised he was the best we could find.

I'd say drop Mbia into defence, we can't play with both Mbia and Derry in there in most games anyway, way too defensive.

We have to, would be ripped to pieces if not....just look at it today. As I've said before, we need class midfielders to sort this out!

Only have a handful of decent players at the club, certainly not a full 11. Filling in the rest of the 11 with average/poor players only brings them all down to the lowest level. Massive squad with few prem quality players.

I would quite like to see this side given a run out:

            Cesar
            Onouha Hill Nelsen Fabio
            SWP Mbia Granero Traore
            Adel
            Remy
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

But then it will be West Ham all over again, teams piling on the pressure, and with Tarbs and Remy hardly getting the ball.

Sure, against the top teams like Man City I have no problem with a defensive formation and hope to steal a goal on the counter like we did as Stamford Bridge, but the fact is, against poorer teams, we're going to have to go for the win.

I think Traore is one of the few quality players we have, he looks comfortable on the ball unlike most of our team. That team works for me, I think Granero is decent going forward, and he does some good defence-splitting passes. But Derry and Mbia is just a definite no-no.

People are starting to wake up to reality. We are in a difficult position which is highly likely we will not get out of. The squad is full of medocracy. If we are going to get out of this then we need to beat teams like West Ham etc. yes, we had a couple of good results against Spurs and Chelsea but generally I am not impressed with park the bus in front of goal and trying to win one nil. Harry is running out of time to bring the quality in we need to shore us up. I am not saying we will not get out of this mess but the odds are stacked against us and I personally feel we have not made enough improvement.

First half he was mustard IMO (as he should be tbf against MK Dons!). Second half was $hit allround and he didn't do a great deal, looked like he had given up at one point just had a go at the ref and didn't bother playing even though the ball was 10 yards away from him.

But he is a great player with the ball, IMO we need him & Tarbs in the side to created chances for Remy. Only doubt I do have about him is his willingness for a battle. But no doubting his ability, IMO anyway.

Exactly. West Ham came into the match on a poor run, we went 1-0 up, and we should no way have tried to sit on that lead. We should have pushed more men forward on the counter, because if we got it at 2-0, then I think that would have knocked the stuffing out of them.
