Things in my life are quite good, if the club loses, do I get ****ed off? Sure do, but it does not affect me from going out or doing anything else. But for some people, football is escapism. Things aren't good in their life, they might have domestic problems - with money, work, family, friends etc - and so football lets them get away from it all, it gives them an identity and a purpose, and so when the team loses, unlike other people, they have nothing else to go to.

What today shows is that the squad is not good enough to make wholesale changes. The first 11 is competitive now and we may be able to get away with perhaps two changes using the players that turned up today but anymore changes then that hugely weakens us.

Only players who I thought came out with credit were Fabio and Traore. Granero needs to learn to pass forwards keeps turning and giving it back which is so frustrsting with the quality he should have.

Staying up this season will rely on how often we can get the first 11 on the pitch as the backup to them is a shower of ..................

I really, really wish I could take things like this in my stride, shrug the shoulders and say "oh well".

Unfortunately, I shall be immensely p155ed off until Tuesday night, when that shower will top up my annoyance even further.

when you witness a performance like that you are entitled to let off steam, for someone to come on and state the bloody obvious and say no one has died or anything is just a **** take:rage:
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Again, a well reasoned perspective on this issue - Im like you Marshy, I dont get off on it when we lose (despite appearances!!!), but it does not affect me for too long afterwards, and it does not enrage me as much as others = thats just me. But hearing the other side to things I can I think understand peoples frustrations...bottom line is we are all different individuals with different outlooks on things- be boring otherwise!!

In the big picture the cup was never a priority. However today's results is just another low in an already sh*t season. What ****es me off the most is how much it exposes how badly our player recruitment has been since promotion.

Players on multimillion pound contracts who get completely out classed by a team two divisions below us. The fact that players on the fringes who have been a chance given to prove themselves still don't seem bothered. Harry's comments at the end are spot on. We've got far too many players who are getting a free ride in the squad.

That said I knew Ben Haim wasn't up to Prem when he was on trial, so why the hell are we recruiting yet another piece of deadwood?

as fans, we entoitled to be hacked off and angry.
we spend hard earned, devote time and effort to see overpaid players not trying
we had a run of 5 unbeaten games, only 2 conceded and today was a chance to build on that going into the Man Cty game
regardless of how many changes there were, we now go into that game lacking in confidence on the back of today performance
if Tevez, Dzeko and Silva watched that, I bet they can't wait for Tuesday
