I'm not sure, witha fully fit side I think we do have enough, remember we have remy now which was something we missed all season. Plus we have Zamora coming back with a fit Granero & Hoilett. I know ideally we would like 2 more players but we might have to do with out. Remember Diakite as well!

I was quite optimistic even when most of this message board was not. Not for some Real Madrid type spending but 3 or 4 good players down the spine of the team would dramatically improve the squad.
But despite the recent form the guy who knows more about it than me seems to still want to sign a CB and CM and striker and if he was optimistic today I did not detect it.

Why is he going to alert other teams about the players he is interested in signing. Also most of the information given out this week has been wrong. Everybody said that Nelsen was leaving next week and that the Korean has signed. He did not confirm either of these, though he did say the Korean had to have a medical.

Harry v v downbeat. More or less said that if we don't get people in we won't stay up...... And that if a reshuffled team can't beat MKD then we're in trouble.... The word of the day was difficult.

Just shows how people on message boards can twist things and make life sound miserable isn't it. I listened to the whole thing and NEVER did H say, imply or even more or less say if we don't get people in we won't stay up!! He did say he thinks we have a good chance of staying up and getting quality in will help that, he did say it hasn't been easy and he also said if we weren't on the back of a good run we wouldn't have even considered buying anyone and would have just looked to get along with what we had.
He then said that he didn't want to risk some of his players in the cup but that's what a squad is for - MKD are a decent team and play some good football - but we should have enough to beat them with our squad.
Somewhat different to what you posted but it doesn't really make a doom and gloom post such a good read when you post the managers words but precis them to fit your mood :strive:

Just watched the press conference myself and initially HR seemed to play things down, but then he said that they had talked to a lot of people around Europe and nothing really came out of it. He also said he hoped for another CB to come in but as he said many times it looked difficult at the moment.
Ryan is going sometime next week for Toronto - which obviously was new to HR as he thought the timeframe was 1st of March - a blow to his plan B I guess.
Later on in the conference he just seemed down and not as optimistic as I have seen him before. Must have hit him hard not getting anyone in since Remy. I sincerely hope that they have irons in the fire but at the moment I am not too optimistic about getting quality added to our squad. HR said we must have quality otherwise we are going down.......so what signal is that for the current squad if no one comes in before deadline day........(I wonder if HR and the board are on the same page?)

Another thing he said was that he said we could and should beat MK Dons no matter which players he would field tomorrow......otherwise we will be in trouble he said.......why put ourselves under that kind of pressure???? I do not get it.....it seems we can not win anything tomorrow.....it only mounts the pressure which is not what our squad needs really. Hope HR knows what he is doing. In HR I trust!

The problem is people are expecting to say things like "we have signed so and so". He did not say that and so they are disappointed.

Sure I do not see why not - someone has got to take good credit if that happens........not that it has happened in a while though ;-)

I think it sounds that he had hoped for a couple more players to sign on but maybe he has found it harder than he thought.

It must be frustrating for him but the January transfer window is always the worst time to purchase as no one wants to really go anywhere.

Also he has now said that no one is going anywhere unless someone comes in so that rules DJ Campbell and Ferdinand staying put for now.

I think the question is could we stay up with what we've got? I would say just about

Hopefully, Remy offers more than Cisse did to the team, and that could make a huge difference, even more so if Zamora is fit and they form a good partnership.

I still think it will be very difficult, but for me Norwich, Wigan, Sunderland, Stoke and Newcastle are good opportunities for home wins and perhaps QPR can nick a win or two at Villa, Reading, Fulham, Southampton.

It should be a very close call.

Hope I'm wrong ... But maybe he's playing things down a bit with regards to transfers etc .

A week ago he was giving the vibes that M'Villa was done and dusted .....look how that turned out ! I suspect he's been told to keep things more under wrap

the fact that he's been hopping around europe to meet players is encouraging ....he wouldn't be meeting them if they weren't interested !!!

As for a reshuffled team...Is it any different to when he was at West Spam.....Every week they were ' down to the bare bones '!!!!

I hope that is the case. In fact, I think so.
