  • French Influx into Premier league - Tax Reasons?

So I work at a bank and essentially long story short we have football clients. One of them for example has a clause in his contract that if the french tax rate hits a certain high then his contract with said French club will allow him to leave on a free. Now Rosie is a tax genuis so I am taking a guess here that a lot of French Footballers are open to moves over to England because of tax reasons. Can anyone else maybe perhaps shed some light on this? Harry must be well aware of the tax scenario over there what with monaco etc. Just a thought that is why various teams are scouring the french league at the moment.

Most footballers are set up as independent contractors / ltd company's which means they wont be affected by any personal tax hikes.

I think the 75% tax hike in France is effecting all the rich people. Even Nicholas Sarkozy is moving to London (that's if he doesn't get arrested first).

There's only five cities in France with bigger French populations than London.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I very much doubt it, many players professional agents negotiate a rate net of tax, this pushes the burden of meeting the tax payments by the club and is a cushion against changing tax rates. They come for the money, because the PL is where even average players can get silly money.

If we leave the EU, then the French players won't be able to play here without a visa.
