Would we really want them additional fans though? I know, commericlaly yes it would be great the more money coming in the better - but they're not going to be actual QPR fans are they - or they'd be here now supporting us?
If we're successful for awhile then we get a whole new generation of fans to grow up as Rangers. That's got to be the goal.
Growing fan base over night, I agree you attract fickle fans. But attracting a bigger fan base over a generation is different.

It all has to start on the pitch, playing terrible football, not getting big results and not having a good atmosphere at games is all massively detrimental to getting fans. I love Tony, but think he needs to understand that this is a project that could take 20 years to fulfil our potential.

Small club IMO for the forseeable future. The thought of a 40k stadium is awful, we would never fill it.

We need to stay up for 5/6 years to really grow a consistent fan base.

A lot of fans on here seem to hate 'new' supporters, so if that carries on we're never going to become this big club they crave- cant have it both ways.

Ok, then a small club it seems we are. Most of us confirmed this. However, I do not like the way we're acting. Trying to bring the best players around on huge wages. As soon as they come here, they realize that they are bigger then the club and their showing is there for everyone to see. Small club=average players. The likes of Derry, Hill, Mackie feels that its an honour to play for QPR. But what about most of the rest. Are they proud to wear the hooped shirt? No, because they are big names and we are a small club. Its so simple. If we are a small club (that we are) we should'nt be aiming such high. We should go after players average in the Premier, not for the high profiles. We leave that for the big clubs. Lets be realistic.

another thing against us is the change occurring in London. From the 50's there was a large Irish community in London, especially local to us, Paddington, Kilburn, Harlesden etc, very much into their sport the Irish, whether the dogs, horses or football, they would attend in their 1000's. Like a lot of people there is'nt the numbers there used to be and they are certainly not been replaced by the newer arrivals

The 82 final was embarrassing, we were outnumbered at least 4-1, slight improvement in the replay, if you look at our attendances we were getting 8,000 gates, not a bad side either, lot of fans knocked football on the head due to the violence and were not happy with the plastic pitch either
