I think its a case of one in a thousand year jobs the season we came up.Just everything clicked for us,the luck the works but were we ready for the Prem no.So we come up which was a shock and seemed to almost walk the league ,so tango and bernie think hey we can do this footy its easy.We wont have to spend as look what we did to the championship.
the whole club set up wasnt ready for prem and a lot of it now still isnt.

club dont see in any hurry to move these "hughes" signings on though in this window (not even the one refusing to play) and I have not noticed any major change this window either with harry (aside from lots of headlines from france) so not sure blaming the last manager really tells the story tbh.

We're still alive though aren't we, we still have a chance to turn this season around and hopefully learn the lessons well described in the posts above. There's something almost perverse about this club that seems to scorn the 'right way' of doing things and hope somehow by bluff and bluster to arrive at our destination quicker and more flamboyantly than the Swanseas and Narwiches of this world. That's why we all love this club isn't it? Well most of the time anyway....

so how can rangers turn this around and become a club like swansea?
With the current owners they can't. Building slowly from a solid base isn't sexy enough. Instant brand wanted at all costs

It was the same with Ian Holloway, he was building a good team slowly but surely and then Paladini got involved and got rid of him. Same with Neil Warnock he spent sensible money and got the team playing well and we won promotion. Then NW got stabbed in the back, he wasn't backed properly and got the sack.

Its the same old story, and we have paid for it now. I still think we will stay up, but if we don't we have the manager question again and how much do we spend again.

You can't place the blame entirely at the feeT of Hughes, surely.

I have to say - watched Swansea against Chelsea. Both legs. Really great team. Way more direct and ruthless than under Rogers. Credit where credit's due. That 4-0 suddenly feels like a long time ago.

Was he referring to the season before, didn't we beat them 3 or 4 nil?

4-0 (maybe 4-1?) on Boxing Day 2010. Adel scored after nutmegging Joe Allen on the left, and we were really taking the **** by the end. Even Faurlin did a bit of showboating. We were excellent that day, probably the peak of our 2010-11 team.
