The second quote (about a bit of trouble) could be read differently, in that because QPR want him to stay for the fight could mean he may not be able to take up the post on 1st Feb?? Maybe I'm just trying to see something in it that's not there. He has never struck me as a quitter.
Here's the article which has the questions which were asked:

We don't need a cb, we need an rb as Onuoha has said that he wants to replace Nelsen. I think he would be epic in cb. Sprint champion and ridiculously strong. We need someone with a burst of pace like when we had Walker on loan. I heard that Sagna is unhappy at Arsenal and is a huge Redknapp fan. Apparently Arsenal are willing to listen to bids of 5mil so lets hope Harry looks into it

I know everybody has said Nelsen is leaving Feb 1, but has anybody from the Club said this yet?

Not so far, but they're always the last to know...
And then they announce it like its a world exclusive.

Wouldnt mind onuoha at cb at all, hes improved vastly under redknapp. I still think we need one or 2 cbs to cover the losses of nelsen and possibly ferdinand. And a full back. If we get olsson from blackburn, theres our new left back, and we can move fabio to rb.

Anybody have any idea what is happening here. Didn't HR say he hoped he was staying until March?

Nothing has changed over here and I would have heard if it had, Toronto FC still expecting him by next Saturday! I don't know what Harry is on about and to me as much as I want Nelsen to see out the season at QPR, it doesn't make sense for him to take up a roster spot if he isn't going to be a Ranger for the rest of the season!

I think this could get messy now, because Nelsen has already said he will take up his job in Toronto on 1st Feb. the Canadian article said that QPR had agreed that he could, but obviously that is news to Harry. I wonder if it is the case that someone perhaps not in a very senior level at the club gave him the OK?
If he is forced to stay against his wishes what kind of performance can we expect from him against ManC, Norwich etc? Hopefully it can be sorted in time but it won't be easy.

Who is running our club? Harry clearly thought he had an agreement with Nelsen that he stay till March, now Harry seems to accept he is leaving v early Feb (only debate is whether he leaves after Man C or Norwich matches). And if he plays a match in Feb doesn't that mean he has to be given a squad number, which further limits our ability to bring in more players in the window?

I think I said before that I found the whole situation strange. The announcement that he was joining Toronto on February 1 was only ever announced in Canada and the U.S. The British media picked up the story from there. Nothing has ever been announced in the UK and although the offy is not known for being speedy, there has been nothing about him leaving on there. I think Nelsen was under the impression that if he retired he could just leave, because he resigned from the New Zealand squad at the same time. It probably is not as simple as that. I would assume that unless a player is injured he has to see out his contract. Although Nelsen says that he is finding it difficult to play, he has been ever present in the team.

I never thought of it that way but it does have potential to be messy, you never know at Rangers! Nothing has changed over here, the team is still expecting him Feb. 1st, here's the latest from TFC: http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2013/01...nelsen-arrival

It sounds like the two Clubs have never spoken directly to each other. This could be what is causing the problem. QPR might want Toronto to buy out Nelsen's contract.

Maybe Nelsen had an arrangement with Mark Hughes, because the job at Toronto did not come up overnight.
