i may be wide off the mark here, but when I saw the criticism of degea and Caesars form I thought there could be chance that SAF would try and poach him
Cesar is no surprise, he has been in stunning form for us. Our clint may be getting on a bit and tiring but one thing you can guarantee, as crooks says, is he will put his body on the line to keep the ball out of our goal. He did it every week in the championship and does it in the prem. He's a top defender and deserves the plaudits.

Van Der Saar was at Foolham and ended up at utd. we've got to accept that our big players may go.
To a point yes, but all this rubbish about Sam saying how many crosses etc... well plenty of balls they just lump in from anywhere and then when it drops knock it wide and lump it in again... yes they put the ball in the box a lot, but it was anything but cultured. This is why they get results because they play this style and most the prem don't. I 've never been able to stand Sam's teams or their style of football, but it gets results along the way, so why would he worry about changing.
Lump in the box or not, can't allow as much space in midfield as we are giving at present. No good camping in the 25 yards from goal. Why we need a ball winner in the engine room to break up a lot of the play.
Derry hasn't got the legs to do that job, he is the deep sitting midfielder in front of Hill/Nelsen at present.

I agree with you 100%, was just making the point the likes of "Big Sam" annoy me by trying to pretend his team was so good because they put loads of balls in the box.... 95% of them were aimless balls and we more than comfortably dealt with them. There's no incisive play to their game, no sweet passing moves slipping strikers through the middle etc. It's just lump into the box from anywhere, or get wide and lump it into the box from there.

Agree with that as well, I was saying in terms of playing other teams as well. Teams with more quality will find a way to rip us apart. I know Chelsea and Spurs failed, was elements of luck going our way which wasn't previously.
Thats why we need the ball winner in the middle of the park.
Another 2 CBs at least as well, Nelsen and Ferdinand going proves we are going about bringing them in. Ferdinand wouldn't be going in there was something in advanced stages
