  • Last night...really that useless?

When I saw the line up my thoughts were as follows; great, Tom gets a game, just as we all wanted. Hey, thats a strong back four and look Connolly as left back, finally JM gives him a game, he'll need this work out. Hogan plays again, perfect, that means Adel gets a rest. Mahon-Legs in the middle, fine...we need the spine, as always and Faurlin gets to rest. Buzz as well, for sure JM doesn't take this game for a walk in the park and he'll also need to get his fitness up. Vine-Agyemang up front. Should be enough, Vine gets a full game under his belt and Agye gets to show what he can do against easier opposition. This shoud normally be an easy win.

What happens? The usual thing when a so called "good" team meets a "lousy" from a lower division, they all think it will be soooooo easy. And it never is, Accrington will fight for their lives and they sure did. QPR did not...the only one who gets positive words is Hogan. No wonder, he's on his way into the team. Legs is already there, Buzz knows his in when his fit and Mahon knows he's one out of two defensive midfielders, normally the one on the bench. So, that's one out of four who wants to perform. The back four then, well not much have been said, but for Gorkks who was taken off at half time. How did Connolly do on the left hand side?? Heaton did well, as expected.

The scary thing is, as always, our strikers. How come Agye doesn't care in a game like this and gets taken off at half time? He must be on his way out of the club.. For Vine this was probably a perfect game to get his confident up. It doesn't sound that way and he should be loaned out...as the rumours goes about.

In my brain I get the thinking of JM for this game and it should normally been enough, but if the desire isn't there it'll always be tough. I understand his anger as well, because Vine-Agyemang-Buzz should all have done better.

So, the conclusion then. Well, we've got a good back up for Cerny. Connolly gets a full game, great...and so did Stewart. Buzz gets yelled at, but also gets a full game, perfect. Hogan shows willingness and desire, he'll probably be on the bench this weekend. Agyemang out of the club?? At least he's in the freezer after this. Vine...well, he got his 90 min, good. But hardly any boost for his confidence. Out on loan? We got thru, that's what we wanted and that's a plus. We also straightened out a couple of questionmarks, that's also good. The bad things then....well if there's any truth in these backroom discussions and the willingness to plays for QPR we're in trouble. If it was a normal "Carling cup game of disinterest" we'll put out a really good performance this weekend. Especially if we get one or two strikers in! ;D
