Can't see why any half decent player would join us tbh. Feel sh!tty saying that but we are in trouble but I would love him here. He's a bloody good player. Would love him here & glad Redknapp & the board are looking at genuinely good quality targets.

I think they are putting their irons in the fire, just seeing who "would" come to us.

Olsson desperate to leave WBA for QPR after £5m bid

JONAS OLSSON is desperate for a move to London with QPR having bid £5million for the West Brom defender.

Harry Redknapp’s side have made a shock move for the Swedish international, who signed a new four-deal to remain at the Hawthorns in October.

Arsenal have also been monitoring the centre-back and SunSport understands Olsson, 29, wants to move to the capital as soon as possible.

A source close to Olsson said: “Jonas loves it at West Brom but there are personal reasons why he wants to go to London. It is about his family. But it has been a hard decision as West Brom have been great for him.”

Olsson, who has a £4m release clause in his contract, joined West Brom for just £800,000 from Dutch side NEC and he has become a firm fans’ favourite.

Sounds good! Would be over the moon if this happened, although I also find the release clause things a bit weird...

I shudder to think at the wages we must be offering.

                            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                            And many more mistakes

                              My first thoughts exactly

I see SSN had it on this morning that their "sources" tell them we have lodged a bid. He would be a great signing! Seems strange he would leave a side 7th in the league where he is starting week in week out to come to us boys propping up the table! Must be some serious personal issues?! Saying that, I've been to the midlands and it ain't too pretty.... :pleasantsuprise:

"Personal reasons" apparently - he desperatley wants to come to London. Baffles me abit n all, big backwards step for him, career wise, but hey ho - not guna moan if he wants to join us - he is a proper CB and would be a great signing!
