Cannot remember a more boring first half played from a QPR team in many years. Very lethargic, not professional and the players must have felt or they needed to do was turn up. How wrong they were. To be fair, we were outplayed and could have easily been behind 1-0 or even 2-0 at the break. Stewart played an awful back pass to Heaton, who could not control it and this almost let in one of there strikers and just before half time, they had a great one two on the edge of the box which resulted in a shot just wide.
These cup games can always produce upsets and we should have prepared ourselves much better. Vine strolled around the park, typified when asking the linesman to get the ball for him, instead of getting it himself at 0-0. Ageymang's confidence is simply shot to pieces and Stewart tonight had a very poor game. Connolly had to cover for him many times. The goal to get us into the lead was a good cross from Ramage and it was hogan who lobbed it over the keeper. Routledge came on and looked dangerous and scored near the end after beating 3-4 players in the box. Injury time saw Accrington Stanley pinch a goal which was throughly deserved applauded by everyone in the ground. There fans did not stop singing all through the game and that was the main highlight of the 90 minutes. Apart from a couple of shots from Tarrabt and Buzsacky that was it for us.
We need a kick start to the season and it looks like we will have 2 strikers in by the weekend, hopefully with the defence and midfield we have, we can at last start to see some goals. The negative thing for me is that are way behind our performances this time last season after beating Carlisle United and it will take a big effort from players and manager to get us back on track.
We've not played well now in the last 2 games, but at least we are capable of better and thats what I will be looking for at S****horpe United.
