Last season, Wigan only had 15 points to their name up until February!!! But they ended up finishing 15th - 7 points above Bolton, who was the last team to be relegated. Its certainly not all doom and gloom for us. Did everyone forget that we just beat the scum at Stamford Bridge!!

Agree it's a long way from being over, but it is still a very steep hill.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

After the Man U game, we have a run of 8 games against Southampton, Sunderland, Villa, Fulham, Wigan, Everton, Stoke and Reading.
If we can pick up a few points before then and keep in touch, there's a real chance to erase the gap during those games.

Had a look at our runin (last 17 games) on a match by match weekly basis ie (comparing Spurs at home this weekend to corresponding fixture this time last year which was wigan home) and it gives me more optimism than last year .
Last Year v This Year My view of the outcome
1 Wigan (H) Spurs (H) More Difficult
2 Villa ( A) Hammers (A) Similar
3 Wolves (H) City (H) More Difficult
4 Blackburn (A) Norwich (H ) Similar
5 Fulham (H) Swansea (A) More Difficult
6 Everton (H) Utd (H) More Difficult
THEN
7 Bolton (A) Southampton (A) Similar
8 Liverpool (H) Sunderland (H) Less Difficult
9 Sunderland (A) Villa (A) Similar
10 Arsenal (H) Fulham( A) Less Difficult
11 United (A) Wigan (H) Less Difficult
12 Swansea (H) Everton (A) More Difficult
13 West Brom (A) Stoke (H) Less Difficult
14 Spurs (H) Reading( A) Less Difficult
15 Chelsea (A) Arsenal (H) Less Difficult
16 Stoke (H) Newcastle (H) Similar
17 City (A) Liverpool (A) Less Difficult
Whilst my opinion of comparing oppositions difficulty against each other is open to debate there's no getting away from the following
In 3 of our last 17 games last year we were away to Utd , City and Chelscum .........3 games ( 9 pts) that most clubs write off !!!
Having got 3 pts off chelscum at the SB I am a lot more confident of Harry putting out the right set up away from home now
We failed miserably against those around us at the wrong end of the table (the classic 6 pt scenario)
Harry will have us more up for the battle than that clueless twunt from the valleys did !!!
