No, not at all. Just this board in general is so negative and not representative of the R's fans I know.

Anyway it's a message board so crack on, just don't get most of you.

I remember Puncheon being touted as pants when NW signed him. Doesn't look too shabby playing at Southampton.

Who knows how he will fit in. Granero is now world class once again, Onouha is finding his feet, SWP scores, Clint comes back off loan and is one of the men of the season so far. Derry continues to be picked despite his pace because he brings a physical presence. Form has to be a factor for all players. Someone recently posted an old youtube clip of HR defending 17 year old Fat Frank against sceptical WHU supporters, saying he would go right to the top. Harry has got to have seen something, he's managed him before and had him training for 6 weeks.

I don't think you can really blame anyone for not getting too excited over a player that was most recently playing poorly for Portsmouth in the Championship.

What makes you think he's better than Ferdinand?

They played both at the same time for Sunderland. Or Ferdinand played, Ben Haim sat on the bench.

Derry and Nelson ring any bells?

Thinking it's a poor signing, does not mean that we don't hope it turns out as well as some of our previous uninspiring signings.

They haven't all turned out that well.

I don't think Ben Haim adds the pace we desperately need at the back to go with a bit of grit that we already have in Hill and Nelsen. I don't think he's different enough from those two to warrant this signing other than as cover (and we definitely need to give them both a rest, don't get me wrong)

No they haven't all turned out that well but then they weren't Harry's signings. This is his first so he gets the benefit of my doubt on it. I don't think he'd have offered him a contract if he didn't think he could do a job for us. He can play across the back 4, but it goes without saying that Harry wants another CB too.

It's not a signing to whet the appetite that's true, but it's probably what we need, a guy, who isn't looking for his next pay day, he'll come in and fancy vying for a place in the team for a swansong in the Premier League. He has been training with the team for a few weeks, so clearly Harry has seen something and at least he won't be coming in trying to form a partnership with Hill or Nelsen without having ever met them. He's experienced, this always doesn't guarantee he'll be good, but i mean he's costing very little and he won't just be sat on the bench.... shrewd business in my view.

                                agreed

Ben Haim not what we need/doesnt set the pulse racing/uninspiring etc etc OR a name like Dawson/Lescott comes in and they're only here for money. Does not seem to be a middle ground with our fanbase. Odd.
