Harry Redknapp is ready to turn to Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore to bolster his battle against relegation.

QPR boss Redknapp could face competition from Fulham but it is understood Tottenham may be ready to let Livermore go out on loan in January.

England international Livermore, 23, is facing intense competition at White Hart Lane with Sandro, Tom Huddlestone and Scott Parker all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Spurs have a wealth of midfield talent and Redknapp knows Livermore from their time together at White Hart Lane and believes he can add a bit of steel to his ranks.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas nearly let Huddlestone go out on loan last summer, but he has played his way back into their long-term plans.

Livermore may now get the nod after Parker came back to fitness and a loan deal would suit QPR perfectly as Redknapp looks to strengthen his squad.

QPR missed out on Liverpool's Joe Cole, who is bound for former club West Ham, while Fulham may also move for Livermore if they are given any encouragement.

Redknapp is desperate to strengthen the spine of his team, and Livermore may be open to playing more regular games.

REDKNAPP is also ready to snap up veteran French right-back Anthony Reveillere, writes Alan Nixon.

Redknapp is trying to broker a deal with Lyon for the 18-times-capped defender, 33, who will be allowed to move for the right price and fancies a last hurrah in England.

Redknapp wants shot of Jose Bosingwa after he refused to sit on the bench for the recent game against Fulham, and Reveillere could be a cheap alternative.

Why is all the focus on midfielders, the one area we have players, and decent ones at that, in abundance.

Don't know why we need another CM, apart from someone like Lampard

Decent young player that would cover/replace Derry's role. Won't get in Spurs team with Sandro and Parker about but could do a good job for us.

Never seen him play and I don't know anything about him, although he must be ok for a loan deal?

Again, he would be a better option than Derry - not that I don't love Shaun, but he is getting slower and only able to do a temporary job for us

Not seen hardly anything of him but our Harry has, so just have to trust him.

Seen him a couple of times and recall a good young physical midfielder who can hold his own in the EPL. If Harry likes him he must have a good attitude too which is gold dust.
