I think you are all over optimistic with this Simpson chap....

Everyone is holding their hopes that he's going to be a top goal machine and rescue our season, but I am not convinced, in fact I do not think it will do us any good loaning another player, also it takes away confidence of our existing strikers where we should be working on them and coaching them into better players.

I feel sorry for Simpson, and he has no idea what pressure he is coming to at QPR!

Seen him twice. My view was his first touch isn't great and he isn't as technically good as a lot of his fellow Arsenal youngsters but that said we were never going to get Vela for instance.

In his favour he has great pace, really goes for it and plays without fear. He comes across as having a real desire about him and next logical step for him is for a spell in the Championship. Been a while since I've seen him so I would expect him to have improved further.

He hated it at WBA and wasn't shy about it so no they won't have a good word to say about him!

I don't think he will set league alight but if he does join I would expect him to do reasonably well and certainly be an improvement on our current forwards who unfortunately all seem to be suffering a dip in form at the same time. With the right service could be a good signing.

Must admit I'm concerned at a) his age, b) his lack of experience and c)his alleged attitude.

We need a decent goalscorer - not another unproven loan deal

Pace, desire and willing to go for it. Which of our current strikers have those attributes? Not saying he is the answer to all our problems but realistically is best we are going to get and might actually work out.

I will be pleased if he does arrive he is the right type of player to make the best of what we can produce from midfield. Hwever he is only a youngster with very limited 1st team experience, I hope peoples and the clubs expectations on him are not too high, its a step in the right direction but I dont think he will suddenly rocket us to the top of the league.

He is a lot better than he showed at a struggling west brom team that were creating little.

To be honest in my view, I think we have missed the boat on this one... We should had sorted out a decent striker in the summer rather than wasting time and buying players like pellicori and faurlin. Now that it has all gone wrong we are panicking to sign a player on loan to which can go either way... Its crazy to think that for a club that scored the least goals last year, we didn't try and solve that problem when we had the chance in the summer.

Also, what must Helguson, Agyemang, Vine, Balanta and Pellicorri be thinking? its almost like saying your not good enough so we are brining this yougster on loan... well why buy them?? I have coached players in the past and you need to work on them and build their confidence otherwise they will never perform...

I hope it works for this lad otherwise come christmas I fear the worst :electric_shock:

I would like to think our strikers might say, "Hang on, what's he doing here? We don't need him. We're much better than this kid."

Arsene Wenger? - you know him, manages a bit, quite a good judge of a young player.

Hmmmm - difficult isn't it - who's the best judge?

I'll go with AW I think!
The same Arsene Wenger who has regularly played one Arsenal academy graduate in the past 12 years? (Clichy)

For all the hoo ha about the wonderful Arsenal youth system, what has it produced? Zilch....

it has produced a fair amount, rarely good enough for the arsenal first team but then thats a much higher level than we need to concern ourselves with.

if I could have, Upson, Hoyte, troure, bentley and a bunch of others i cant remember of the top of my head I would be fairly happy

                      Ashley Cole?

Bendtner, Fabregas, Vela etc.. were 15/16 when they were brought in to Arsenal... and were turned from raw teenagers into Champions League players.

When that little stat is trollied out, people seem to forget just how good Arsenals first team squad is, and just how good any kid has to be to get anywhere near it. Even for Carling Cup games.
At the moment Jack Wilshere and company look pretty good to me.

That's just the Spurs part of you coming out to play.

Hopefully he scores very soon which will bring confidence to the whole team

1 goal in 13, not very prolific.

But hey, lets give him a chance

if the stats where anything like good enough to convince you qpr would not be getting anywhere near him, wakey wakey

Simpson = another winger who would be out of position upfront....

however saying that, he is very quick and can hit the target if given chances so would definately be an improvement imo on what we have
