In Dazzer's defence he was awful first half - every man and his dog were slating him at HT

But as I say, fark it, his goal tonight has erased all the $hit he has ever served up for us in my eyes

And "the only thing", as if it was something so insignificant

Amazing Goal and you know he wanted to celebrate but didn't.
The lay off was amazing from a quality player, but it wasn't a "great finish" as that would imply he meant it to go where it went. He never has any idea where the balls going to go he just hits it and shuts his eyes.

We'll now have to sit through another 5000 wayward and deflected efforts before he gets another one on target.

As for celebrating it wasn't that he couldn't, he's just forgotten how to!! 😉

He's still useless and a drain on resources. The Liverpool game tells us everything we need to know.

It was great for him to score, but he did have a shocker apart from that.

However, he is clearly a player that does get effected by confidence, so maybe we see a new SWP? Let's hope so.

And there in lies the issue that Dazza is talking about.
I'd far rather SWP had scored a dozen goals in crucial games turning draws into wins then we wouldn't be in the position we are in. Given the choice I'd rather be in mid table and have not won last night.

Still, if it raises his and all the other players confidence then I'm glad he finally scored. I wonder how much that works out per goal in wages?

Who's been a bigger waste of money him or Michael Owen?

I'm a realist. They both are as bad as one another.

Other than the goal SWP was our worst player last night, he has a lot to do to win me over, but he will be rememered for that goal.

Some people only look at the goals and base their judgement of a player on that.

Saying that, SWP will go down as a legend for that goal.
