  • Just Watched Harry's interview

I gotta say as an eternal optimist by nature even I after yesterday's showing & the points needed to stay up have virtually given up all hope of survival BUT after seeing that interview the man has given me hope I thought was all gone.

I don't know whether it was said in a way to lift the players or to keep heads from sinking but I bought into it & am actually looking forward to the fight & the fact he's made me feel like that after such a horror show really highlights Redknapp's strongest asset.

It ain't over till its over & a bit of siege mentality is massively required. No time for feeling sorry for ourselves.

I agree. But Harry did a great job defending the indefensible on Sky. The team he puts out at Chelsea- whilst awaiting the reinforcements- will tell us a lot. He's got to clear out the rubbish. Mbia and Diakite can't play together. Cisse, Traore and SWP mustn't feature. And, because I can't see Adel doing anything useful at Chelsea, he ought be benched. Perhaps a last chance for the woefully slow Granero?

Well said Ric. Yep we are in a proper $hit position and we have a mountain to climb, but it certainly aint over. 8 points can soon be made up in the PL, stranger things have happened. Under Hughes I had, in the end, given up hope and accepted relegation tbh as I just couldn't see where a win was coming from (the Soton game was the nail in the coffin for me), but under Arry, although we've only got 1 win, I feel alot more confident. Especially as we has a transfer window now to work his magic. He really did seem upbeat yesterday in his interview so (as was mentioned on another thread yesterday) I cant help but have a sneaky feeling he knows about a transfer or 2 we have tied up that are guna help us out big time.

        Here's hoping

Don't think any team has ever recovered from this deficit with this many games left (may be wrong)? Harry is not going to say we are down is he?

All managers say this - even Keane at Blackburn when they were down!

If he turns it around it would be the greatest of escapes, but I am afraid we are relying on overhauling Reading, which we can do, and two other teams really going on the worst run. Villa look likely. Everyone else is picking up points.

I know nicked a draw at Stoke but I dont think theyre guna get many points between now & the end of the season. I honestly think it'll be a record low points tally to stay up this year - maybe 30 or something could do it. It will be us, Reading, Soton, Wigan & Villa in a little mini league down the bottom I reckon with none of us picking up too many wins so if, and I know it's a big if, we can string a few wins together somewhere, I think we will soon find ourself in a pretty decent looking position for survival.

Alas Ric I fear that he must've caught you off guard.... We ain't got a 'hoop' in hell am afraid... Harry knows it (its his job to remain positive, hardly going to admit in public that we're all but down) deep down you and all of us know that's it....

The only way we might escape is if we get in reinforcements with huge incentive... ie a striker or two that we pay huge bonuses to if they score enough goals to somehow keep us up....

Would love nothing more than us to stay up but to be honest am getting to the point of not really being that bothered either way... Having said that a few wins and dare say I'll get my mojo back... Lets hope that the players do too...

Am still hopeful but we're the 15th team to have 10 or fewer points from 20 games. The previous 14 all went down.....

Hmm you could be right but Harry is a realist also & I just have a sneaky feeling we will come good next month & get a little run going to save us.

Maybe I've just gone mental I really don't know anymore.
