For all those criticising MiddletonRanger's post, let me just tell you something.

My elder brother was always a more fanatical Ranger than me, it was he who actually got me into Rangers. Over the years, he had become a bit disenchanted with football and the amount of money involved, but the one thing that kept him going was the fact that we were still a club who had not lost it's tradition. He would always say he would hate it if we became like Cheslki or Leeds etc.

At this moment of writing, he does not follow football. He does not even know which players are in our squad, when I try and talk to him, he says he is not interested. This is the same guy who used to cry when we used to lose.

So, yes, there are definitely fans who don't like the fact we have had so much money thrown at us and are wasting it.

My own personal view, whilst I can appreciate the sentiments of the OP, I like Fernandes. The one thing I would say, though, is that you do not need to spend and waste money like we have to be successful. Look at the likes of Stoke and Norwich - they're not big spenders, they don't go after many big names, they don't pay huge salaries, they have maintained some sort of tradition, yet they're both "successful" in the top flight.

Yes, but there were those of us who are on record as saying that Hughes should not be chosen when he was. So it's not to do with hindsight but realising, based on the past, that MH is not the kind of manager a club with ambition needs.

Fair enough. I wish you'd been charged with picking the manager last January :-) Hughes et al are the worst thing to ever happen to our club.

I would not have got rid of Warnock. The guy had been screwed in August, being forced to buy players he did not want to. I would have given him the chance to actually buy players he wanted this time around, and I believe he could have kept us up.

For the record I wasn't calling for Warnock to be sacked either but since then a lot has come out about him being off in Cornwall, his coaches being on the p*** and idea of training being running round some traffic cones, total Championship style training programme without using modern tracking techniques etc. More to the point, we were on a complete downward spiral, the performance against MK Dons was pathetic on the back off a long line of league defeats. Listen to Joey Barton's comments about what an amateurish shambles it was. I will always be grateful for what Warnock did in v difficult circumstances with our previous owners - he pulled off a miracle getting us promoted - but very, very doubtful we would have stayed up with him as he seemed to have lost the dressing room (or certainly part of it) and many of his signings were actually worse than those of Hughes.

In actual fact, you're right. I wish we had chairman or owners like the ones Pompey, Coventry, Hearts, Blackburn, Birmingham, Rangers, Villa, Cardiff (they've changed the entire badge & kit ffs?!?) and countless others have now or have had recently, instead of Fernandes.

Ask the loyal fans of those clubs who they would rather have. Look how they have seen their clubs treated and how little the fans matter to the men in charge. People forget where we were just a few seasons ago. Do i want to go back to hearing ''your not famous anymore!'' from a stand full of S****horpe fans as I watch players like George Santos and Arthur Gnohere try and kick a ball? No.

Seriously, we don't know a good thing when we have it and to perfectly honest, with the way some of our fans carry on I'm not sure we even deserve it sometimes.

Fernandes has made mistakes, mainly through naivety and poor advise, but I'm willing to support him because unlike so many before him, he makes decisions ALWAYS with the club's best interests at heart IMO.

Can't believe anyone would bash the chairman. He appointed a manager and team who he sincerely believed could do a good job for us. He gave the manager money to buy players who were believed to be required to maintain our EPL status. While he left the running of the football side to Hughes and his support team, supposed football men, he has got on with the business of improving the infrastructure of the club, i.e a new football academy and stadium.

TF has publicly stated the wage bill has been reduced and that if we go down, the cost of relegation has been written into the business plan. We have to take Tony at his word, and I for one certainly will because I trust him to do his best for our club. Anyone who's ever seen him celebrate a goal would know he loves our club.

How many other chairmen interact with fans the way he does? How many are prepared to pop into the local pub to have a beer with supporters? Loads of football clubs are fronted by faceless and in some cases, nameless people. Is that what we want? Let's get rid of Tony and Amit and bring in some faceless Russki or Arab.

We have the best chairman in the business and a great board. Tony and Amit want the best for our club and we should back them to the hilt. They changed the manager which will give us a fighting chance of survival. They are getting on with rebuilding the club, Harry is getting on with rebuilding the damage caused by the last manager, and we, as fans, should get on with the business of supporting our team.
