  • Split dressing room

Although it was refreshing to hear Redknapp criticise our over-paid useless players yesterday, his comments would have definitely split the dressing room. The odd player might want to prove Harry wrong, but I suspect most of them will sulk and act unprofessionally. I'd be amazed if we win any of our next 3 fixtures now.
Players like Hill, Nelson, Derry, Green, SWP and Taarabt will be up for the fight, but i'm not sure about the rest of our squad

You can add Mackie to your list. Might not produce quality every week but will die for the cause.

don't you think it is already split, got half the team busting a gut and the other mercenary half taking the ****. What Harry said is what us football fans have known for ages, no money being recycled to finance the future stars or making football affordable to the masses, no, straight into the pockets of agents and the likes of Bosingwa

I reckon there are about 3 groups of close mates in the dressing room, with some that talk with everyone. The old guard probably have their own little group and don't really talk much with everyone else. The french lads are all probably close mates. And then you got the newer spanish/portuguese speaking players that have their own little group with some others. I don't think it's a bad thing though, I don't think they all hate each other. Every team in the prem has little divisions in the dressing room, some players just happen to talk more with one player than another. It's a typical work environment so I can't see them getting into fights over their wage differences lol.

The reason Harry came out with that was to test the players. He needs to separate the wheat from the chaff to see which ones are up for the fight and which aren't. Its a rallying call and if anything it will unite the dressing room, not split it. He's laid down the gauntlet to the players now and those who dont rise to it will just confirm to him which ones are the true mercenaries and were never up for the fight to begin with.

He's the master of man-management and this is what he's doing because we need proper fighters now. Thats why when he talks about potential January signings he says they have to have the right characters as well as the right ability.

Thats also why he told talksport yesterday in his own inimitable way: "Theres some good lads here and there's some other lads who shouldn't be here, but I've got to keep going with the good lads and add one or two more good lads to the good ones."

Have to disagree with you, when you see their bodylanguage on TV something is clearly lacking in terms of UNITY.
When a team delivers collectively on the pitch it´s OK to have seperate "gangs". But when almost everything is going wrong then you have to ask questions about how the same "Gangs" are going to acheive a common goal. Just my take at it,though!
