  • Adel's off to the African Cup.....

If picked, he'll go. We'll miss him.... Let's hope we get as many points on the board as possible beforehand.

QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt has confirmed he wants to play for Morocco at the African Cup of Nations next month. Harry Redknapp does not want him to go.

He's defiantly going to go, and who can blame him when he's country is calling for him. Hoilett is going to have to step up to the plate and prove himself

That's fair enough. It would be wrong of us as a club and disrespectful to morocco by asking him not to go.

You have to expect this if you buy African players . Everyone is in the same boat. It won't be just us who loses a player or two.

Would you feel the same if that was an England International who played for say Southampton?

In fairness we all want him to stay but we cant really expect him to can we - can you imagine the reaction if, say, Rooney told England he wasnt going to the Euros? He would be public enemy number 1.

Lets just hope Adel has a mare in their opening game, gets dragged at HT & he storms off to the nearest bus stop to the airport and gets a swift flight home to help his beloved Rs
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

ACN needs to change - cannot be as often as it is. they've got a huge WCQ grouping too with around 50 or 60 nations. just can't go on this often.

liked harry's quote about being better than berbatov.

wouldn't rule out adel suddenly picking up a niggly injury round about mid jan....

Adel has been good of late, but we need to get out of this mindset that some seem to have that "if Adel goes we're doomed".

Yes we'll miss him as a very good and direct player, who, when it's working, is potentially lethal, but that's not always the case. Also, we have Granero who can play that role and i think would actually link in the runners far better than Adel does, so although different, may open teams up better.

We also have other options. The key point is we were a losing side without momentum, or high morale and weighed down by this winless tag and as a result players were underperforming. That's all changed now and i think a lot of them will start to perform much better. I think Granero in particular will relish playing in a more positive side.

So back on Adel, loss yes, end of the world certianly not. The ACN is a farce the way it wrecks seasons, however everyone knows about it when they sign these players so can't really moan.
