Squad player. £3m good money for a limited player. Need him for this season without doubt but if we're safe come May I'd cash in. Personal opinion.

Can't say a bad word about him. Nor anyone who so clearly puts in the effort he does, every single time he is given an opportunity. The bloke is a star in my eyes and demonstrates just the sort of attitude we need. As do the likes of Hill, Nelsen and Adel.

As for his missing chances, I have seen other vastly experienced and vastly overrated strikers, miss far easier chances than he has. Give him time under a proper manager to see how much he can improve.

So we can then spend twice as much on the likes of Park, Zamora and Granero?

Exactly, I've also seen strikers that cost 20 - 30 million miss chances easier than that.

Did I say that? Na. I'd rather find a gem like Michu myself. Do you know how much he cost?

They are out there & I trust Harry to do decent business.

Love Mackie and he should play every game, people still want big and better names when it already hasn't worked out

Me neither, never said I didn't rate him.
His work rate is immense, his heart as big as a lion.
But he can frustrate in front of goal.
I really hope Harry can move him forward and help improve him.

My post was more around every player having a price.
Those that think he's worth £10m and not a penny less or he'll never leave us, coz. he loves us so much, are in cloud cuckoo land......nice as it is to think that, it's not the modern day reality.

I agree mate, I just think he's a decent player despite his limitations and there's plenty of others who should be moved on before him.

                          Good article.

Can't see JT in that picture though.

Agree with all of that Brighton. And here's my problem with the people who slate Mackie for missing that "sitter" on Saturday.....................the way he read Rise's intentions and then responded with lightning fast reactions to actually make the chance out of nothing was top drawer. So, he missed the target, but how many premier league players would have even created the opportunity in the first place?
