  • Just back

Decent turnout today and it was a fun/supportive atmosphere too for most of the game.

We started brightly and I thought it was going to be an easy win after the first 5-10 minutes but after they scored we went into our shells a bit and thank goodness for the corner because we didn't look like scoring otherwise.

Second half Wigan came out and were all over us - we couldn't get the ball and they had wave after wave of attack. To be fair they could have scored a few and again I thought our luck was finally in when we scored against the run of play. But the inevitable followed and the celebrations didn't last long.

I have to say I think Harry got it wrong today. I couldn't believe Derry was starting over Faurlin and was amazed he wasn't replaced. We were getting overrun in midfield with Derry left chasing shadows. Sorry but he's past it now and was only ever at home in a Championship team.

SWP offers nothing whatsoever and again I think Harry's getting that wrong. I think Hoilett should be given a run in the team - at least he has an end product.

Hughes' squad-building in the summer caused these problems. We now have loads of midfielders but are woefully short of quality at the back and up front. We all said it before deadline day but Hughes never sorted it. I didn't think the season would be quite this bad but I did think we'd struggle with this squad.

We're a shambles at the back and offer nothing going forward so I just don't see any way out of this. Harry really has his work cut out - if only we'd had him to build the squad in the summer, this season could have been so different.

I don't claim to know better than Harry but I do think he got his team selection wrong today. The other major problem we have is that we don't look threatening on the attack - there is no pace, no urgency and no movement. It's all very ponderous and slow.

I think this would be my team if Park & Dyer are fit for Fulham:

    .............................Green..............

    Bosingwa.......Nelsen....Hilll......Traore

    Park.............Dyer.........Faurlin.....Hoilett

    ......................Granero..................

    .........................Cisse.................... .

Subs: Cesar, Fabio, Ferdinand, Diakite, Mbia, Taarabt, Mackie

That might raise a few eyebrows with Diakite, Mbia, Taarabt and Mackie on the bench. However neither Diakite or Mbia played well today and we need to try something different. Mackie's a tryer but hasn't got the quality for me at this level. It's a bit harsh on Taarabt because he did alright but I'd use him as a sub if we weren't creating enough.

quite a contradicting post. I thought we were awful today and wigan were definitely the better side that dominated the midfield battle. I raved about Diakite last wk but today I can't remember him doing anything right. I don't blame you for wanting to change the side but the reality is the squad isn't good enough. This was last chance saloon and we've blown it. Tbh given up on us now and will find a new hobbie.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Oh but well done Nelson only player that can hold his head up. Him and Green of all people were the only players for me that deserve credit. That chels cum **** Bowsingwa was awful and should never play for the team again

well maybe you should highlight where I got it wrong? I am being blunt and summing it up to a tee, don't you start tonight because I am just saying it how it is

We weren´t much worse than them in the first half, really. But in the second they bossed the midfield completly. Agree with you regarding Diakite, he is a riddle to me. And on the whole it seems like we lack cohesion in the team whatever the set up is.
Makes we wonder if these players are training togeter at all.

First half we were the better side . Right up until their goal the whole game was in their half. Second half was a different story though - terrible.

It seems like the team are were nervous at the moment. So afraid to lose..(who can blame them, really) It was devasting to watch Nelsen and Hill when we let in the second goal.

I think it was Nelsen who looked Absolutley livid , was punching the floor in frustration when their 2nd went in.

Yepp, no wonder he was frustrated. He gave his all today.

What's doing my head in on this post is the fact that you got in at half seven...I'm still on a train. Got delayed till 18.52...

Both our CB's weren't happy and who can blame them. Those 2 and Rob Green were the only ones who put in a shift. Mackie tried but he isn't a lone striker.

Thought Diakite was woeful today, didn't look fit/interested. We have so many midfielders and they are all average at best with the possible exception of Mbia.

Also far too slow when attacking. We paly at walking pace.

Hughes really has ****ed this club up. Arry will be a genius if he gets us out of this mess.
