C'mon, it wasn't THAT bad yesterday. Villa are an improving side, and they made it tough. We have had a number of positives from the past two games, we have managed to get a clean sheet, and yesterday it was only 1 goal. Our defence seems to be improving, the players are putting in more of a shift, and we have some "easy" fixtures coming up. What we're lacking is confidence, hopefully that'll come too. We need to ensure we don't fall further behind till the transfer window, and I can see us getting the same amount of points as the others around us till then. Hopefully in Jan we'll get a quality striker, and then we can start chipping away at the teams ahead of us. Let's face it, the other teams are bound to hit a poor patch too, so I don't think it is all over y any stretch of the imagination.

I do wonder what 'quality' players with any sense of ambition would really want to come to a team floundering at the bottom like a half dead Dover sole like QPR....:(

I agree performance wasnt that bad, but were in a situation at the moment where resuts are everything and we cant afford good performances that still dont produce wins. For the record, I thought Villa were $hit - other than that Benteke who was a right handful.

Performance was ok but couldnt have been that good as we still didnt beat a bottom 5 team at home. See improvements though. Before the game everyone was saying "must win" now we didnt and it will be the next game :-)

agree we are that bad, but we need to score more than the oppositions. Manure have pathetic defense but they manage to score more.
if I was harry I would tell them just go for it attack attack attack and dnt look back, nothing to loose really.

The last few games have been must win lol.
To be fair harry isnt going to be able to turn it totally around in just 2 games. But still like many i was very happy with the performance but gutted about the result. Still wondering how we managed to not win.

Villa was the poorest side going forward we have faced this season

One can argue we made them look poor.

our problem is the ''easy'' games at home have gone, swansea, soton, villa, reading, to think we've managed two points from that shower of s**t speaks volumns. A defeat against the tarquins in a fortnight will be just too much for a man to take

The league table could argue theyre just plain $hit.

But even if we did make em look poor, we still couldnt beat em could we.

Let us be realistic. Villa are a poor team. Again, we ran out of ideas for the last 15 mins and the movement off the ball disappeared but I do agree we played well enough to win by at least 2 goals. We are not getting the luck so you have to make your own and we cannot seem to do this as we continue to squander our chances.

I thought it was a good performance overall and we were unlucky not to get a win out of it. We were definitely the better side, as we were against Sunderland. 8 points from safety and with the last couple of performances I think we're in with a genuine chance at picking up a few wins in December.

League table does not reflect form. You could lose your first 20 matches, then win the next 7 on the row, you'll have 21 points after 27 matches and be bottom according to the league table, but it doesn't mean you're plain $hit.
Apart from the 5-0 hammering at City (a game I saw the whole of as I was in a pub abroad and that was what they were showing, and believe me, City weren't great, it was just one of those where everything went their way), Villa lost 3-2 to Man U (respectable, beat Sunderland and Reading, and drew Arsenal and Norwich. So I do think they're an improving side, and I think we should give credit to our boys, because we outplayed a side that is improving and finding its feet.

We are Currently 6 points down on Last season against the same teams.

Win against wigan and fulham and we are back on track! both 0 point games last season.

If HR had come a bit earlier, we would have got more points. I am sure results will improve, but the question is will we get enough points by the end of the season to stay up?
