Have to single him out today.
Absolutely superb effort from him today, very good goal and absolutely plays his heart out. Yes, not the most gifted of players but gives 200% for the cause unlike some others (for the record I thought we were very good today, and very unlucky not to win).

Totally agree mate great performance. Created so many chances just through sheer work rate - like when he chased their keeper down in the corner in the second Half.

    Top effort.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Mackie shows that whatever your talent nothing beats determination. I know he's not the most skillful player out there but all these mercenaries should take note. They could learn a thing or two from him.

There's only one Jamie Mackie. If only all the others could join his Winter Wonderland.

Would like to see the stats, would say he covered more ground than any other player on the pitch.

Top effort from Mackie,he just at times was a tad isolated and needed some help.

Its odd, last december I would have been buzzing at the thought of having someone like Cisse playing for us aheead of Mackie but how times have changed.

Still our most consistent performer always runs his heart out and never sees a lost cause not the most gifted but he unsettles defences and seems to be more physical than he has been in the past his passion reminds me of Ainsworth another player that would have happily died for the cause just need a few more out there with his work ethic.

Jamie is one of those that realises how much it means to us as fans and not just bothered about his weekly wage.

Was excellent, don't know how much we paid for him from Plymouth but must have been a fraction of the price of the agents fees we paid for some of the idiots under MH.

I know this may sound weird but he reminded me in part of Sir Les today just chasing down defenders, haven't seen one of our forwards do that for some time.

Both him and Hill were class.

I think many fans have thought for some time Mackie is a better striker than a winger. I think he's a right handful in the box. Not afraid to put himself about and puts in massive effort. Good to see HR agrees and ha put him up front.

He'll certainly learn the art of being an aggressive striker from Joe Jordan who was a menace of a player. Some of the older posters here will well remember him.

Was thinking the same, needed a JJ flying in with headers, too manyof our players are scared of losing teeth.

Was one of the hardest players of his era, unlike the nancy boys of today

Sheer effort and brilliant headed goal in the first half.

Sheer effort in the second half and very little else. Not his fault, but you see why Cisse has looked so ineffective. The striker is reliant on the rest of the team to get chances for the most part.

Mackies performance was even more of a stand out ,because on the same team were a few so called established internationals with a far betterCV than his and know doubt earning a lot more wages ,who just went through the motions ,and i get stick for pointing this out and told i know nothing , the sooner HR sorts out this shambles ,we can then start moving in the right direction , but alas i feel there are too many at the club for it to happen quickly . but i live in hope
