I've seen the video interview, the papers are just putting up a false headline completely. What he said was they have a tough battle lol.

Certainly seems like something spun out of context

The media and a few of our fans just have it in for Joey. Theres nothing he can say or do that will change that.

And rightly so I'm afraid to say. He was something of a cancer at the club last season, in the final days of Warnock he was undermining Neil and spreading discontent in the dressing room. I was disappointed with him, I had hoped he had turned the corner with a fresh start at Loftus Road but his behaviour but he rather threw that away. The way he conducts himself means he is more talked about for his attitude than his footballing credentials. Barton is the 2nd most talked about footballer in France - behind Ibrahimovic - at the moment. The amount of column inches he has garnered has nothing to do with him as a player either.

If ever the current players needed that extra bit of motivation, this was it.

Thanks Joey, you may of actually helped us fight for survival just that little bit more, and all coz of your lack of loyalty and totally self-serving attitude. Never was a team player, never will be.

Totally out of order...His interview was blunt but good...

He isnt saying we are going down he said it would be hard to play for us again if we do. he thinks Harry is a good appointment, he didnt really want to get caught out on any questions etc.

He likes being in France and is open to stay and has held talks with the club to stay on for longer.

                  Bonheurjh, you misquoted Barton.

I have changed the title of your thread to what he ACTUALLY said so people don't inevitably misinterpret it.

this is all hearsay and to like him to cancer is a bit strong . ok he didnt see eye to eye with nashers. what i dont like about joey is he likes to think of himself as this cultured man about town when in fact he is nothing of the sort , he would proberly be in the jail if he wasnt a pro footballer. in the end of the day i dont give 2 hoots if he comes back or not

Full un-edited/twisted/spun interview is here with a little French self-parody further down.

Always preferable to try and present things accurately, at least on here

It isn't hearsay at all, you need only ask Neil Warnock and Keith Curle. Barton actively sought to sow discontent with his surly attitude. The use of cancer is merely a turn of phrase but he was a malignant element in the dressing room.
