A few bits for you all -

    1. Harry is the real deal - Got to keep saying it
    2. Very up beat and very pleased with Sunderland result

    3. Short up front - should have really had four fit strikers (Expect something in January in this area for sure)
    4. Quality midfield - Great quality and depth

    5. January transfer action will decide on how we are doing in the league - Wont be signing people if we are struggling
    6. Joked about the players we are linked with (Lampard being thrown into the mix - was quite funny to listen to)

    7. He genuinely believes we can stay up
    8. Support is key - Must get behind them but to do that the team need to give us something to cheer about.

No real injuries, Cesar is out but only for A WEEK. Slight groin strain.

Green to start but he fully rates him and spoke highly off him.

Mentioned Young being injured but never really mentioned about him being back in the 25 come Jan - same with loans etc.

The inference was, if we don't pick up many points before January - we will have to start preparing for life in the championship. Signing expensive players on high wages is not a good way to do that.
Alternatively, if we do pick up points and look as if we are on a path to pull clear, we may be able to invest to try and make that a certainty.

I would have to say this is obviously the sensible approach. Brings into even clearer focus how critical the next few games are.

Makes sense, if we dont get a decent points tally by jan, then it is time to prep for championship football. Also noone will want to sign for team who are going down.

Cheers Essex - Got it in one sir.

harry said himself, we do have a huge squad some of which on big wages...

Bringing in someone like Bent or even Dawson in January would really not be advisable or right if we are struggling are certain for relegation

Sadly buying more fixes nothing, if we are doomed to go down then nothing will change it.

Harrys next fixtures till Jan are important.

          1. To see how good this team really is - The quality suggests we should and can survive
          2. These are winnable fixtures

Only worth buying if a genuine step up in quality and as you say we won't get good players if we are staring relegation in the face. even if we do well till jan we will still be in deep trouble - just look at our Jan fixture list - so cant see any big names coming except on loan.

I would agree - However I would take a loan Striker regardless who it is as long as it prem quality who scores goals

Can see us getting Crouch on loan and maybe even Bent on loan.

Hughes, combined with bad luck, has left us in a state up front to be honest.

I would still hope that we will bring in a few strikers on loan. We badly need one or two of that sort.

Why can you see us getting Crouch.... Just because Harry's signed him about 4 times, does not mean it's feasible. He is the main striker for a prem club on a long contract... why would it be feasible for them to release him?

Wouldn't call it back luck .......Bad management !!!!

Should NEVER have signed A Johnson .... we all knew he'd be injured within a month of pulling a shirt on !!

Zamora was never going to be the goal machine / fox in the box we all craved.

DJ Campbell ...whilst I don't rate him that highly I would rather him up front alongside Cisse now rather than Mackie !!

Not sure I entirely agree about the Window. This is the worst season to go down and the enourmous increase in TV money next year means we should fight tooth and nail to the bitter end even in the transfer market.

We would need to make sure contracts are very clear on relegation and we would always sell a lot of players anyway.

There is risk in this, but seeing as when we were in the Championship winning season our wages alone were well over 100% of revenue - I a not sure why we suddenly think we should avoid risk and just accept relegation. I would personally invest and try to stay up even if we are struggling in Jan - the financial rewards for staying up are higher this season that ever.

Taking the risk in the Championship got us to the PL. If we avoid any signings because we think it is risky in Jan - we will be back there very quickly.

I take your point but my guess is that a lot has been invested already, it's not a bottomless pit - there has to be a cutoff at some point - and clearly I'm guessing we are close to it.
At the same time, could all be smoke and mirrors. We don't want to send the message out that QPR are in the market again, and see prices rise etc.

A club our size with our fan base would be taking a risk on wages in division 2 .

Whilst we paid 'good wages ' in our championship winning season .... we were never paying silly money ( more than £ 15 - 20 K )

If you look at the back bone of our winning season with the exception of Adel ( Kenny , Hill , Derry, Mackie , Helgusson ) I would be surprised if any of them were more than £ 20 k /week .

Where we were sp unking money was on the likes of Hall , Ageymang , Vine Etc who were wasters
