think it's about time the club changed it's policy on buying players
like someone said on here the other day
buy cheap, buy twice (in our case maybe 3 or 4)
buy quality buy once
simple really

a) We never paid 3.5 mill - the deal may be worth 3.5 mill including wages over the period - bonueses, conditional payments etc etc
b) Who has been doing the buying....."Originally Posted by qblockpete

Very strange!
We have wasted so much money over the last 2yrs on players who are just not good enough, foreigners and everybodys cast offs
Younger players like Connelly and Routledge have been good buys but if we were lucky enough to get promotion we would have to buy a complete new squad because the lot we have brought are not Premiership players. If we didn't we wouldn't last to long up there.
Why don't the club start investing in young talent and start building a squad of players in their late teens early twenties who could be ready for the Prem in a couple of years.Ok you might have to pay £1mil to £1.5 mil for some of these players but you would be building a base to start from at the moment I can't see any structure to build on.Teams like Reading,WBA ,Wolves have done this over the yrs and had some success. It would be better than what we are doing at the moment IMO.
