Hughes could have kept Kenny to compete with Green saving £25k a week.
Hughes also didn't need to sign Park Diakite Mbia and Granero, 3 of these would have sufficed. He didn't need to sign Johnson or Bosingwa either. Keeping Helguson Campbell and Young would have been better as it would have meant less players needing to gel.

Do we need to shout this bit? KENNY DID NOT WANT TO STAY AND FIGHT FOR HIS PLACE - so what's the point in keeping him? Green was signed as first choice keeper, Cesar then (surprisingly it seems) became available and we were able to do a deal. Yes it made the purchase of Green seem odd but when that was done Cesar was not available and we were looking for a first choice keeper.

rob green makes no more mistakes than most keepers...just some get highlighted ala paul robinson....dave seaman mde plenty of howlers for club n country...............plus had a gay tache!

Many other GK's have been struggling with the new ball this season, including Czech. Given hasn't been seen since a fast bouncing shot slipped thru his fingers. The new ball is a joke. Every week on MOTD you can see all players having difficulty at times with first touch. This is the same type of ball that was used in the World Cup that he got slated for. Blame FIFA, not the players.

That save last night. He could easily have been rusty but he wasnt. It was all he had to do but he did it. Would have lost otherwise. Well done Rob Green.

Green done very well made a really good save in the 2 nd half he may be in for few games depending on how bad Cesar's injury is?

Yes this is true, once when Robinson was on his way out, and twice with Gomes first choice and on the way out of favor.

Rob Green is the one to keep you in this league and help you push up the table, you saw last night the kind of thing that made him first choice England goalkeeper. Green would have saved a lot of Cesar's 'worldies' that seem to always be mentioned, and he certainly holds the ball more straight at him. For all Cesar's European experience, his attributes do not suit this league. Why did Inter decide to sell a so called 'world class' goalkeeper? Because he isn't one. In this league you need experience, with 250 premier league games and counting, Green is your man.

You haven't seen anything yet, Harry likes him and he certainly likes Harry. You could well see the best years of his career, wish he stayed

Watched the highlights on Player last night and hadn't seen the save from that header before... my stream must have messed up on the night. Brilliant save and made it stick also, which often isnt the case with reaction saves such as that.. .keepers often spill them and another player has a tap in. Added to the one where he dived at Fletcher's feet and took a kcik in the face for it and he had a top class half.

Hopefully that will be all he needs to be solid for us in the coming weeks.
