Well, probably not. Probably just another bit of rubbish conjured up by someone to sell a paper. Let's hope it is a rumour and nothing more, I don't want us to become a magnet for have-beens.

Anelka (Daily Mail)
Redknapp has identified former Chelsea striker Anelka as a serious loan target.
The 33-year-old is contracted to Shanghai Shenua, but could be available on a temporary basis from January given the Chinese Super League season has finished.
Anelka is keen to return to Europe on a full-time basis after privately admitting his move to China was a mistake.
Redknapp would look to secure a deal to sign Anelka until the end of the season, though the move would depend on QPR coming to an agreement with Shanghai over the player's £250,000-per-week wages.
The Chinese side would also need to give the striker permission to join QPR until May, given their season starts in March.
Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Michael Dawson will give serious consideration to a January loan move to Loftus Road.
The central-defender is a primary target for Redknapp as he looks to add steel to his side.
Dawson turned down a switch to QPR in the summer, but the arrival of Redknapp, who he worked with at Spurs, has forced the 29-year-old into a rethink.

Another mercenary? Personally, I think we should look elsewhere. Also, I never knew he was on £250k a week!! That's crazy money!"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

For the next month I expect is be dozens of stories like this in the press and thousands of them online and mostly just agents and players planting stories or hype produced by the football media echo chamber. These stories start to mean something after Christmas especially if written by respected hacks or with quotes from the club. Until then it is mostly journalist inventing talking points like that talk****e radio station does.
