  • Mbia ahead of Bosingwa

After Bosingwa's display against Chelscum, I really thought we had a decent right-back at the club, but since then he's been awful. I thought Mbia was outstanding at right-back when we played United at the weekend. Surely he has to get the nod ahead of Bosingwa now

I haven't completely given up on Bosingwa yet, hopefully we see him play more like he did vs Chelsea! As I mentioned in another thread I think he's been pushed into attack too much and his crosses and wayward shots at goal have been letting us down! I think if he is told to concentrate on defending we will see less of him having to scramble back after he's been caught up in the final third of the field! I agree though that M'Bia looked very good there against United!

Good points. Boswinga was excellent against Chelsea, but, as you say, v poor since. Think giving Mbia a run at RB would be good for the team and might help concentrate Boswinga's mind.... Chelsea fans have never rated him, mind.

M'bia is the best RB we have, even tho he isn't a RB lol.

Our problem is that we just got one really good centre back, had Clint Hill been faster we'd have two, so Mbia might be stuck in next to Nelsen.. Hopefully HR kan make Bosingwa to perform, if so I'd prefere Bosingwa-Mbia-Nelsen-Fabio as a back four until Dawson is in the team!

Always I don't want Bosingwa or Ferdinand anywhere near our team again, and I will lose all trust in Harry if he ever picks them?

dyer, to his credit, has done well in every game he's played this season imo.

I don't doubt Dyer is a good player but his reliability is the issue. Can we put faith in a player with his injury record?

Because the alternative is Bosingwa? :pleasantsuprise:

Ah well, I think Bos is a good player. Comes to something when a champs league winner six months ago is not good enough for us.

Either him or Fabio at RB for me. M'bia is a far better option to have at CB or CM.

Mbia played well on Saturday and his use of the ball is far better than Boswinga. I also think Boswinga is not very disciplined positionally. A full back is there to defend first and support the attack going forward.
I'd prefer Mbia and Dyer as our full backs for the time being. Can't worry about injures until they happen

As I've stated in another post LOADS of Reds were talking about how good Mbia was in the pubs after the game. Some I was talking to and some I was eavesdropping in on ! Only someone like Hughes wouldn't play him there again .....
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."
