  • Strikers' absence.

    Sigh....

Who would you sign this winter if you were the manager ?

Charlie Austin. We're in a need of a young striker that scores plenty of goals for the fun of it!

From the sounds of it, if we get in anyone it could well be on loan. Makes sense, because we need top quality up front and no one in that bracket is going to risk going down with us.

Proven goalscorer, currently not getting much play time with their club. There's a few names I'm sure Harry will go for.

Definately agree. Swindon fans hate him but he is what we need, a goal poacher and will score in the premiership!!!

Why spend money when we can call back DJ?

Harry needs to look at Championship srikers, and the best would appear to be Charlie Austin. Would cost 6-7 million but at 25 he would be a good buy and scores goals for fun!!!

I don't think we're going to have a big budget, might have to sell a few first. We have DJ who can score and is quick.

Yeah bring DJ back, if we're going to reinforce in the winter we just need to buy some reliable defenders... maybe just one centre-half... we don't need to overhaul the squad again! Just get the quality players we have playing well!

I got a feeling we will go for Darren Bent on loan until end of season with view to buy.

                    Same type ofdealfor Dawson too.

Kenwyne Jones is a confidence player and Redknapp would certainly give him that. Big, Strong and can run. Would also look to get another one in as Cisse just does not care which was evident yesterday a few times we broke and he had the whole half to run into and yet just stood looking at the man running with the ball. Another joke situation created by genial Hughes.

Don't think Harry will fancy Darren Bent as he sold him at Spurs and is too one dimensional. You have to set your whole team to play to his strength, playing on the shoulder of the last defender, otherwise all you get is a very expensive average winger.

I think his striker target will be a big strong EPL experienced team player who holds the ball up. There are a few who fit the bill and he will want to sort it early in the window too. So probably just see who is available at the time as you cannot be too picky in January.

Agree with you about Dawson providing Spurs play ball. But they usually drag deals out which is a problem especially in January so it looks nailed on but might not happen.

Shouldn't we be looking for a striker who scores goals? Any half decent player can 'hold the ball up'. The name of the game is to score goals in order to win matches.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

For sure and ideally both. But you cannot always transplant a goal scorer like Bent from one side to another and expect the goals to follow. He scores but the team needs to play a certain way. Got to be a quality striker too rather than 'half decent' - ideally two of them in case one gets injured or don't work out. Difficult call because January is such a frantic window.
