  • Disciplinary Record

During his spell in charge of Blackburn, Hughes' side was accused of being "over-physical" and "dirty" on multiple occasions and the club finished bottom of the Premier League disciplinary table in all four of Hughes' seasons in charge.

In Diakite's first game Hughes told him to get "stuck in" and as a result he got booked twice and was sent off in about the 17th minute. Hughes admitted telling Diakite to do this. So after that Diakite is in a quandary, does he do what his boss wants and get sent off again or does he avoid tackles

One of our biggest problems has been sending offs, sometimes for stupid reasons.

I do not think referees today let players get away with as much as they used to, and as a result if Hughes' side is "over-physical" players will get booked and eventually sent off.

He has always wanted his players to be committed into challenges, hence so many cards.
Everything about Hughes seems to be wrong. He played for Man Utd and Chelsea and that in itself is enough for many of us not to like him.
