  • QPR have learned from mistakes of Raheem Sterling saga - Hughes

He said: “Massive changes in the academy will ensure we keep our best players. And it’s a big thing to bring your own players through.

“Those players have a real empathy to the club and the fans have a real empathy with them.

“When you have a player of the talent of Raheem Sterling and you can’t keep him – there’s something wrong fundamentally.”

One positive about Hughes for me, is that he can certainly build a great team, looks at the youth academy and can spot talent, But getting them to play as a team is a different story.

Far too forward thinking to be talking about the youth setup. Selfish or not I dont care but I don't care how good our 13/14/15 yo are at the academy- if we go down and they are anything decent they'll be snapped up before they contribute to us.

Doesn't nearly every club lose potentially great players the moment others come sniffing, offering ridiculous wages and the odd game on the bench?

Raheem's mum wants him to move back to London apparently.

Some papers' saying that Arsenal will offer Walcott + £10m for him, so it's possible he'll move to London but he wouldn't come back to us at this moment in time!
