How the heck could a meeting last this long as within the first couple of minutes Beard will have had a list of concerns that not even Harry..... Houdini that is, could escape from....
Basically they would have been having had regular updates and so far this season these meeting must have been pretty excruciating.... I don't know about what you do for a living but were I as inept then I'd be signing on by now....
Anyway, even though the club would deny this to be the case he must have gone into the Saints game knowing that only a win will keep his job(maybe the players knew this too and didn't exactly go out of their way to get the win), so, Philip Beard would have only had to remind him of our abysmal position in the league and even more worrying, MH et al's lack of ability to improve the situation when it's not going our way(pretty much all season).....
One can only assume that feverish behind the scenes meetings, phone calls and action is being taken as even OJ Simpson's legal team would fail to argue a credible defence for Hughes remaining....
Being there on Sat I didn't fully appreciate just how much they outplayed and out thought/fraught us in just about every Dept.....
Just another whinge whilst I'm at it....
Should we ever be in a position to move to a decent and spanking new stadium.... DO NOT GIVE AWAY FANS THE WHOLE OF THE END BEHIND THE GOAL.... Hate seeing rival fans celebrate in such a high profile position in the ground.... How many grounds do we go to where we are able to enjoy the whole of an away end? Exactly, usually tucked away in a corner and more often or not miles away from the action.... Away teams must be inspired by seeing their fans right behind the goal....:(
