  • Is anyone on here supporting Sparky?

As a lifelong R I am quite perplexed by the venom being aimed at our manager. Results have not been good this season - he'd be the first to admit this - but watching him in the dug-out on Saturday he was kicking every ball.

I bet he is feeling really bad at the moment and probably thinks he's let Tony and Phil down big-rtime.

Is it not better that he is given the opportunity to put things right and rescue his career rather than bring in Harry who will be on his last job and looking to prop up his pension fund and that of his dog Rosie or whatever it was called?

A motivated young guy is a better bet than a snoozing old guy.

I would support him to the hilt if he was to give up football management and take up bungee jumping without a rope or arsenic tasting.

Make of that what you will!

Are you Mark Hughes in disguise. To be honest think I'd rather have Rosie as manager.

Until Saturday I was still scratching around for reasons to stick with Hughes - mainly because we've done the revolving manager's door thing to death and I honestly saw enough in the performances to believe we had a fighting chance of turning it around with a bit of luck and a win to kick start the season. But honestly, after that gutless pile of turd at the weekend, not even I have anything left to offer in Hughes' defence.

But Sparky has a reputation for starting slowly and getting better. The Ruperts were second from bottom or something at Christmas the first season he joined - they got hammered by West Ham - a bit like us against Saints on Saturday.

Where did they finish - eighth wasn't it? Likewise it took him a long time to get the ball rolling at Blackburn - then it was sixth, other regular top ten finishes and three cup semi-finals.

All I'm saying is be careful what you wish for? Southampton were in a similar situation to us when Harry washed up there - and he took them down. Virtually evey club he has been involved inhas ended up in receivership. Coincidence?

I would think that there are many, me included, who were prepared to give the benefit of the doubt for a while longer.

I can accept being bottom, someone has to be. And there is still plenty of time and points to play for.

I can accept losing games. I can accept not beating teams we should wipe the floor with. I can accept that all teams have poor runs.

But I just cannot accept what happened on Saturday and still find it hard to believe I actually witnessed it.

That was a serious question, I have heard cor used but don't really know what it means, no one uses that in my neck of the woods!

Unfortunately at Rangers he started slowly and got progressively worse.
