  • Zamora refuses to eat with the rest of the team

    From Loft for Words:

"The day began with a line in The Times, missed by most, saying Bobby Zamora now refuses to eat lunch with the rest of the team because he is disillusioned with life at the club, and Anton Ferdinand is sulking because he asked to be made captain during the summer only to be told he was being replaced."

Anyone see The Times article in question? What a pillock if true. Good thing we shipped DJ of to Ipswich eh?

Haven't seen the article but if there is a grain of truth in this then you have to ask what the manager, captain and senior professionals at the club are doing. In any job or any walk of life where team work is required it is the responsibility of those in charge and those in positions of influence to ensure that the team is functioning properly as a unit.

If team morale is genuinely that bad that the players can't eat together then we truly are in deep trouble!

Exactly. That's why I think Redknapp is the only available manager who can save us from the drop. Can't imagine this kind of thing being tolerated under his watch. Also we need to give Nelsen the captaincy on a permanent basis and give him carte blanche to pull the others in line.

Given the publicity the Club is getting at the moment, the journalists are just looking to write anything about the club and I think most of it should be taken with a pinch of salt. If you watched MOTD2 yesterday, this was apparent for all to see.

Need to let this has been go in January if anyone will take him

A burden carrying a player who has no passion for the club

Passion is the wrong word 'slightest bit of interest' should be a more adequate replacement. I'd say 90% of the players have no passion. My guess is many have already written this off asa bad season on their CV and will have their agents already looking for new cubs in the summer.

When this ship goes down it'll be us and the board stuck on it while they will be in the lifeboats and straight into a first class suite of the next ship that picks them up.

This is not true. He apparently had every intention of eating with his team mates, he just missed the canteen.....

Maybe he doesn't like food as well as football?
If he doesn't like birds and booze either, he may as well top himself.

he doesnt do himself any favours does he , hes been around football long enough to know how important team morale is. he needs to shape up or fined 2 weeks pay . i pay good money to watch the likes of him going through the motions every week and still picking up a fat pay cheque

He's had fitness problems most of the season, so is it possible that he was just receiving treatment.

I'm amazed modern players have the opportunity to eat together. They come from all round the world, speak different languages, spend all their time on social media, listening to ghastly music under oversized headphones. What chance is there of any team spirit???
